W.Va. man charged with killing 3-year-old son

Pointing your rifle at your 3 year old's face and pulling the trigger, a game? A "game"?

How terrible for this child's family..

If it were truly an accident, there will be no prison more harsh than this father's mind.

I have not heard any details on the situation. Yesterdays news article didn't have very much information on it. It is absolutely terrible.

I know some couples who would LOVE to have a child, but can't. And then you get these idiots out there who can have a child, and take it for granted.

Life is so unfair.

I am one of those people who wants a child so bad and cry month after month when it doesn't happen. Then I see things like this on the news and it makes me sick to my stomach.

Sounds kinda like that sick piece of offal that killed his son in Crab Orchard several years ago.
The death penalty is too good for these monsters.

How can you judge a man until you know what happened? Game? I have heard some rumors and thats what they are, rumors. Only one story is true, until I have some solid facts, I for one cannot judge. You can bet the NRA will be quiet on this one. Regardless the gun should not have been loaded. Too many people own guns that shouldn't.
Maybe the man had a right to own a gun but an innocent life is involved here. Speak up NRA.

I agree. The end result is that a family lost a child and they need our prayers.

Reading up on this was easy and it was a druggie playing a sick game

i know this family, and the last thing this man would do would be to intentionally hurt his child. No, it was not a smart thing to do, but it was truly a tragic accident. He did not mean to kill his child.

From the latest story going around, it sounds like the man shouldn't of had a gun NOR a child. Well, maybe he won't have either one for a while. You should never point a gun at someone unless you intend to purposely KILL them. That is rule no. 1

There is no excuse for this person. There is no reason at all why a gun should be anywhere near a three year old kid. No reason at all!!! No excuses. No one may know the real story... I would assume no one else was there. Point is... the guy should have just pulled the gun on himself,,, he should burn and rot in hell anyway.

It looks as if the gun wasn't the only thing that was loaded. He wasn't trained properly or else he didn't use it. He could have used the drug money to buy the kid some toys. But it's all water under the bridge now. We can hope the kid is better off NOT having to endure a parent like that. Those boys at shady spring could learn a lesson here.

Yet again you seem to have two different thoughts on a subject. Just yesterday you were saying you wouldn't judge this guy until you had hard facts and today you are calling him a loaded druggie. Wow. You never cease to amaze me.

Surely he has had to hear someone say sometime in his life never point a weapon at anyone, unless you attend to kill them. I say at least the dumb ass needs to go to jail for man slaughter, I am sorry a dump ass like that gets no sympathy from me .I do feel for the mother and the rest of the family.

I can only judge him by what is reported in the papers. No information was given until today. No I wasn't there but if he was playing games with a loaded weapon then I can judge that statement. Is what is reported in the paper true? I don't know. I have to assume what was in the paper is true, if not, they need to retract it. That is about as hard a fact as I will probably get. No sane person "plays" with a weapon.

One additional comment. Another story from a neighbor was he was painting a room and took the gun off the wall to paint and the kid shot himself. So I don't know what the truth is. At any rate it was not the kids fault. I am more inclined to believe the paper. I can't see the paper making up something.
