I was reading my morning dose of Borovent or Borobitch whichever you prefer. But anyway, I saw a few days ago that the locals were thinking they were getting a Wegman's. HA HA HA, I noticed someone posted that it was for HANOVER township near Bethlehem, HA HA HA!! Nice area I must admit, high end customer base etc. More of a place you'd expect a Wegman's to be. Well, I'm sure that locals of Gettysburg are upset by this. Then again they're used to disappointment.

The only Wegman's opening in PA in 2012 is in King of Prussia. They have been looking at sites in Hanover but there is no decision yet.

Yes, a Wegmans would be nice in Hanover. In the meantime I'll continue to make the short drive to Mechanicsburg when I want a Wegman's "fix".

OMG you are so darn smart, why I bet you think I'm insulted or feel stupid because you had to CORRECT ME!!! LMAO! Hey A-hole, and I really do mean that. The Gburg bunch has been trying that for almost a year now. Laughed at it then, laugh at it now. You really need to find some new material.

What struck me as funny is how crazy everyone got when they THOUGHT one might be coming to the area, pretty sad actually. Its a grocery store, GET OVER IT! Geeze, like a bunch of starving dogs who got a bone thrown at them.

It's more than a grocery store, it's an experience. Even if one came to the Gettysburg/Hanover area I wouldn't go there for my regular shopping.

If you take your coupons Dollar General you could stock up on the hot dogs and t.v dinners. I didn't think Gettysburg had a local economy. I thought it dried up when the tourists went home, sorry my mistake. Now had you gotten a casino, oh wait, that was a bust too. Wow, you really are a sorry bunch. Or at least the ones who defend their land by posting on Topix. Hey heard Borovent went by by too. Its really starting to sux to be you, isn't it? Hey guess who this ISN'T, give up? I'm NOT Dani, but thanks for playing.....

The difference is that there aren't outsiders in some of the other communities trying to tell us how to live. People like you, Dani. Keep posting.

I go to Wegmans for fun and something different to do. Nice try. I must say I have been to a Wegmans once. It was a unique experience. A lot of ethic/cultural food selections, but I’m basically a meat and potatoes person. My daughter did introduce me to a few items they offered that are not necessarily special to their store, but I haven’t found around here anyplace. I made some purchases and did find the products I purchased to be pretty good, and probably something I would purchase if there were a store locally, but nothing so special I would make a special trip for. I agree I can purchase bread, milk, and other things local, without that special trip. But if there were one locally on the way to someplace I am going I would probably stop in and get some of those special items from time to time. As a matter of fact I am going to visit my daughter this weekend, so we will probably swing by her local store and get a few of those items I did like. The impression I got from some, but not all of those I saw shopping there was that they wanted to be able to say they purchased what ever it was at Wegmans, even though they could get the same item at the local Giant, or Safeway. I think the term is “Snob shopper”?

Maybe outsiders try to HELP you, because many ( Not all) of the locals don't have a clue on what to do. Must have been easier on the locals to try and get a casino, thinking that would end all their troubles. If things are that rough, outside help might be the town's best bet to get back on the right track.

The local grocery stores are usually just fine for my everyday grocery needs, and let's not forget the freshness and quality of locally raised and homegrown products. Maybe Wegman's should send out monthly statements so shoppers could track their spending?(Smile and a wink)
