I have know Rick for several years. Working with him in law enforcement in Newcastle, Wyoming. What is happenning to him is definetely wrong. Jesse Britton was a troubled youth. In all the years I worked with Rick he had a good relationship with the young adults in our community. It is a shame that all of you who are condeming him have not worked in law enforcement. He did just as he was trained to do at the law enforcement academy. This case should have never gone this far. Rick should have immediately been dismissed of all wrong doing. Where are the citizens of Crawford? They should be standing behind him instead of slandering him. His family has gone through enough hell. It is time to get over it and let Rick and his family go on with their lives. Your court system in Nebraska obviously needs some changes.

I am not saying they are not seeking a beginning to the end of all this but you know Rick's family had the right to show up too. Nowhere in the post did it say everyone ''EXCEPT'' the Thompson family should show up. Perhaps you should read things a little closer and not be so quick to attack someone who is at least trying to head in the right direction. Progress, not instant perfection.
