What a bunch of CRAP. Jerry's in bed with the county. How do you get cited so many times and NOT get punished? That's right, keep letting him breed, infecting more dogs with Parvo and turn the other cheek. BS Jerry Burch charges $400-500 per dog, unaltered without records of vaccinations and nobody complains. His dogs have ear infections, eye infections, Parvo, whip worms and the county sits on their hands and DOES NOTHING!!!!!! What rescue doesn't charge at LEAST $150 for a fully vetted, healthy, altered dog? NAME ONE. Right, there are NONE.

1 What is the dispute with letting a family adopt a dog before a rescue group? Any legitimate rescue would be glad to have the dogs go to a home, not another kennel. That is the purpose of rescuing the dog, is it not, to find it a good HOME?? There are way too many pets available as it is, stop all these breeders from having more than one breeding pair of dogs at a time. Also stop these "rescue groups" from accumulating more than a few dogs at a time. All animals released from a shelter should be spayed or neutered, only then will the population start to decline. |

1 No doubt, he has other dogs elsewhere. These rescues are the noble ones, who break their backs trying to do the right thing for the animals and spending their hard earned money trying to get these animals back to good health. For someone who denied access to animal regulation on his property, that is a red flag. These people are very good at hiding dogs. He should be cited, but the county keeps on letting him off. He is an complusive liar, like most puppy mill outfits. |

Frances Plunkett says, "the group was simply between licenses", "it is pending". What is pending? Does that mean that she had a license before and let it expire, or was it revoked or what? Doesn't sound right. That would mean that she is currently without a 501(c)3 license which in turn would mean that she should fall under the Shasta County laws that require people that have more than 6 dogs to have a kennel license. I understand that she has her personal dogs licensed individually, but no kennel license. Now she appears in the Daily News and has adopted two more dogs. Does that put her over her six dog limit? When you bring a dog into your home whether it be rescue or not, it is required to be vaccinated and licensed immediately. There is no waiting period. I believe that this woman is stirring the pot in Tehama County and staying rather neutral in Shasta County because she has not got her ducks all in a row. She doesn't want Shasta County checking her out. From what I understand, she changes her residence quite often. I believe that people do have to look out for the animals, but to make a big deal out of the animals being adopted out to the general public before she could get her hands on them is pretty sad. Was she really looking out for the dogs or just being plain greedy. What makes her think she and her fellow rescuees are the best hope for these animals? Did anyone notice that one of the dogs she just adopted was a cute little puppy. Of course, she didn't want to take a dog that really needs a home because it might be hard to place. Think about it!

Until any one of you has worked in ResQ, especially with dogs from Jerry's, you don't know what you're talking about. I have been through it, the conditions and the personal agenda of Tehama County. Jerry: you claim to be on Medi-cal, sick and dying of cancer yet have a backyard FULL of puppies you're selling for $400-800? How does that work for you? Lets tell the WHOLE truth, not your version of the truth. You aren't licensed or zoned foe a kennel and you keep your dogs in rabbit cages to breed over and over. SICKENING!

This rescues dogs are fostered in private individual homes.This rescue does not charge those high fees quoted above.This rescue does intake GreatDanes, Mastiffs, including mixed breeds of all sorts.It is rare for any rescue to sell a dog at a profit, after all the medical costs to include altering.Many of the puppy mill adults have to stay for months in foster, due to behaviour difficulties, before they can be safely adopted out. This rescue is current on the 501c3.This rescue is one of the best around. So there you are, I can assure you that there is no profit at this particular rescue group.

Rescues don't have a problem with reputable, ethical breeders, we have a problem with puppy mills and the conditions under which these puppies are being bred. Tehama county has put into place laws and ordinances that are supposed to protect animals from this and then when violations are found they have the odacity to trade puppies in leiu of citations. Tehama county has cited Jerry Burch, put him on probation and then continually ignored the continued breeding operation. Either you are part of the solution or you are part of the problem, plain and simple. For those of you who think being a rescue is a profitable business, I have a beutiful golden bridge for sale, cheap.

1 Tons of puppy mills here!!! There are not only large puppy mills here but small scale ones with families breeding and re breeding their "pets" to death all for the almighty dollar. These people need to be stopped just as much as the larger facilities. |

SO GLAD TO SEE THIS GROUP AND HOOPER ARE BEING UNCOVERED FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE, I'M VERY FAMILIAR WITH THEIR SCAMS--THEY RUINED OUR NAME AND INCOME BY A HATE CAMPAIGN A COUPLE YEARS BACK--ITS BECAUSE PEOPLE BELIEVE THEY ARE LEGITIMATE AND DON'T TAKE TIME TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH..I BOUGHT 2 DOGS FROM JERRYS PLACE IN THE LAST FEW YEARS AND ITS WAS ONE OF THE NICEST-CLEANEST PLACES AROUND--HEATED--AIR CONDITIONED--MANY PLAY YARDS--SWIMMING POOLS--HOME COOKED FOOD AND ON AND ON- HE ALWAYS HAS AND STILL DOES HAVE A OPEN DOOR POLICY--NEVER HAD A BAD REPORT UNTIL HE REFUSED TO GIVE THIS GROUP ANY MORE PUPPIES OR CASH DONATION, I WONDER IF ALL THIS CASH THAT IS DONATED IS REPORTED?? I WONDER HOW THE DONATION ARE DIVIDED UP? DOES EACH VOLUNTEER WORK ON A COMMISSION BASIS--WHOEVER GETS THE CUTEST AND MOST VALUABLE PUPPIES--GETS THE BIGGEST CUT.. THINK ABOUT IT.

"Wisdom": more current reporting indicates this group is NOT current on 501-c-3 status with the state, and hasn't been for some time.
"Kelly": Are you a volunteer with Res-Q, or an employee with the county? You seem to have information that would not be available to someone not involved on one side or the other. I'm betting on you being an Animal Shelter employee. The reason for the 48 hour waiting period for rescues to take dogs from the county shelter, allowing members of the public an opportunity to adopt, is that for years this group has had insiders from the shelter working with them, letting them know that small, easily adoptable dogs were taken in, and when they would become available (after a state mandated holding period). Res-Q members would be waiting at the door the moment the dog was available, while members of the public who were seeking a small dog to adopt were told there was nothing available. After some research was done, the 48 hour wait time was put into place some years ago. I can't speak to conditions either at Burch's operation, nor how animals are kept at Res-Q. I can speak to whether or not either party seems to be completely honest in how things are presented to the public... and right now it seems like a lot of double-speak is being carried on. |

1 flashback was never a puppy mill--it was a properly licensed kennel for many years with a spotless reputation and will provide a list of inspection reports and comments from real puppy customers. |
||||
why dont you tell the truth--they are not licensed and have been denied a license since 2002--they lie and cheat and slander and try to intimidate anyone who wont give them their valuable toy dogs so they can sell them for big bucks--hope they are really investigated good for what they really are. |
