Many were forced to go because of the economyor have you noticed the decline of jobs? The multi-tours were not voluntarily. There is no definitive enemy so how can they ever win? Japan was allied with Germany, we had provocation then. I have never refered to our troops as child killers. It is regradable that in these modern wars many children have been killed though. In my book you are a Warmonger

No one forced them to go, it's an all-volunteer military. Enlistments are for four years. That means that we were already at war when everyone of our current soldiers enlisted.

We had provocation with Japan and Germany but having terrorists fly planes into our buildings isn't? Japanese and German civilians didn't do anything to us, so using your logic, we should never have bombed either of those countries, we should have let bygones be bygones.

You mentioned cluster bombs and the fact that they kill children. Who uses cluster bombs? Maybe our soldiers? Therefore, ie, you called our soldiers child killers.

Sticking your head in the sand will not make the threat go away. Did you hear about the ties to Al Qaeda and the Ft Hood terrorist? How do you propose to protect our country?

In my book you are a pacifist and people like you are going to get a lot of Americans killed.

Actually, many of the soldiers were national Guard. You know, the guys that are supposed to be defending our borders and responding to emergencies, like New Orleans during the hurricane. But instead, they were sent away. Some protested and tried to AWOL because they did not agree with their orders or the cruelties they were asked to commit.
So instead of protecting our borders from potential terrorists and drugs, they were sent away....I wonder if there is a link Guards gone, drugs up??? Ah, maybe not. The border police can handle the caravans of drugs and slaves that bust through, right?
Many returned to active duty because their PTSD and disconnect to back home was beyond their ability to cope. Why do you think there is the high suicide rate among soldiers? They are out in the field with inadequate gear and come home to our big houses and big screen TV's. Before Obama, the casualties weren't even on the news. Oh, that's right, didn't a lot of our national debt come because of contractors who were not monitored to see if they were really doing what they were paid to do?

A warmonger is a pejorative term that is used to describe someone who is eager to encourage a people or nation to go to war. Does the shoe fit or not?

Pesticide Illness--Now who can argue with such a concise, well-thought out argument as that? No really!! Who can argue with that drivel.

You are totally incoherent, bringing up things that have no basis in fact. Slaves? How many are some who "tried to AWOL"? Do you think people who joined the National Guard had no thought that they might be asked to go to war? They aren't allowed on the Border due to the liberals who won't allow us to do anything about illegal immigration.

How many returned to duty because "their PTSD and disconnect to back home was beyond their ability to cope"? Really, 50%? 70%? Quote your sources Illness!

How high is the suicide rate compared to anything, or anyone else?

Our National debt came not from contractors but from policies demanded by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi and Slick Willie Clinton.

The point of the original letter was to support our troops. Maybe if we Americans supported them, the suicide rate wouldn't be near as high as you apparently claim or have the disconnect back home

Take another swig of Round-up and try to be coherent, include facts in your arguments.

Encourage a people or nation to go to war?? Who wants war? None of us that stand up for our troops want war. No sane, logical human being wants us to go to war with anyone. Unfortunately, sometimes this nation is called upon to stand up for freedom and liberty, either here or abroad. I have been to the rallies for our troops put on by the tea party the last couple weekends. I have been there holding flags in support of our troops. Do I want them fighting? no! do I want them dying? no! I want them to know that I am proud of them. And I want them to know that if our ridiculous forgeign policies and rules of engagement wouldn't tie their hands, and we let them fight the way they are trained, they would probably have the job done and be home already. Instead, some choose to stand on the corner and call them baby killers, others show up to their funerals to protest the war and cause further heart-ache to an already distraught family. Thank God for the Patriot Guard! Thank God for the Tea Party movement! Someone has to stand behind our troops, and I will be one of them! To quote my favorite line, "If you wont stand behind our troops, please stand in front of them!"

Good day to you, Dear libs - sleep well tonight in that warm bed that our soldiers have allowed you to have, while they fight in your name.

How would anyone infer you were talking about the Iraqi army from anything you've written or posted in the past week(s)? What clues were missed?

If we are supposed to read your mind one can then infer from your post that you are only opposed to the Iraqi war but you fully support the Afghan war. Is this correct?

The letter printed in today's Daily News asked questions none of your ilk seems to want to answer.
What should we do about terrorism? Do you want to attempt to fight them on their home territory or fight them here? Do you think they are going to go away and not try to attack freedom all over the world?

It's easy to criticize but it's much more difficult to come up with viable solutions. Let's hear yours!

what is the reality of current war?
- it is perfidious crime against humanity commited by usa and its main politicians: bush, baran hussein obama or whatever he is called and their criminal neofascist militaries.
- Afghanistan is totally ruined
- there are hundreds of people who die there day in day of hunger- most of all children, young people usual diseases - lack of medical treatment, violance and war crimes commited by representatives of usa.
- tousends of detainees - war prisoners who are detained in scandalous conditions, have no food, who are tortured and abused.
- 8 mln refugees who have no own country, they live in camps for refugees all over the world, in some countries they live under blue heaven just like for intanse in country of sarkozy.
and baran hussein obama- war criminal and genocideof the type of hitler, bush and this guy from ruanda intends to continue this crime against humanity. Will he be happier man if he will be responsible for more war crimes and more intensive tragedy of this poor Afghans and you, can you live in peace knowing that your country- your military scum are responsible for crime against humanity, massacres, genocide, crashing human rights and tragedy of these poor Afghans?

I remember on the news when some National Guard tried to leave. Also you can look up the caravans that were smashing through the border patrol. Some carried drugs, others carried illegals from all over South America. That has also been in the news. I used to live in Southern CA and every so often they would find a house stashed full of people to be transported. Look up white slavery and human trafficking. It was at an all time high. I don't know if the numbers have dropped recently. I haven't followed the stories for over a year.

A war, whether it is needed or no, comes at a heavy cost to those who serve. We are supposed to have a regular army at all times, but I remember all the base closings and the people who were released. All over the country there are bases that were closed. It was over 10 years ago. The National Guard was supposed to be just that. They were not intended to be professional soldiers. They were men and women with families and careers.

And as we can see by Felx, our actions are considered wrong by most of the rest of the world. We have been playing Israel's game for them. It has been about oil and pipelines, and worst of all, money.

The world trade center was destroyed by Arab nationals.

Aaron Snodgrass and Jeff, one in the same and the be all and end-all of the conversation. I should take notes. No "liberal" ever stopped a bullet in the name of the U.S., eh, sirs? Come on, stop parroting the party line and think constructively.

Is it possible to stop the liberal v. conservative dichotomy?...it is a false narrative that only divides us, the citizens, who actually give a damn. Both Republicans and Democrats are equally to blame for the mess of the past two years.

Okay, once again, if you do not support the war, what is the answer? Do we continue the Obama World Apology Tour, promise to be good boys and girls and hope they leave us alone?

Why is it none of you seem to be able to answer this question? It has been asked at least 3 times in this thread but none of the Anti-War crowd seems to ever answer?

Anyone? Orv? Pesticide? Felx? Anyone? Anyone?

Interesting theory "Lush," but I am only me, and I only speak for myself, as myself. Secondly, I am not republican. I could care less what the republican party says or does. As far as I'm concerned, the Republican and Democratic party are separated in name only for the most part, and I choose to have nothing to do with either.

The point remains.. I support those who protect me, my family, and my country. Whether we like it or not, or whether they like it or not, the troops are there to do a job. I support them and their families and pray for their safe return.

OK John you ask if we don't support the war what is the answer. Answer to what? Your question is awfully vague. the answer to what I guess the question might be and which you can't except is to pull all our troops out of all foreign countries period. And stop all support to Israel. That may not bring in a peacefull world immediately but its a start. Also to have more peacefull surroundings we should abolish our Draconian drug laws.

The question is global terrorism in general and Al Qaeda and the Taliban in particular. The terrorists stated goal is to kill all the Infidels who do not convert to and follow Islam. They aren't going to go away. They've been doing this for centuries Orv.

It is easy to be against the war, most if not all of us, are. War is a terrible, nasty thing. But you can't just be AGAINST the war, you have to be FOR something.

How do you propose we combat global terrorism? Do you think it won't happen here if we bring the troops home? After Ft Hood, can you truthfully say that if we stay home and do nothing, nothing bad will happen? Appeasement didn't work for England and France in WWII and it won't work for us now.

So, the question is asked for the 4th time in this thread and still unanswered, what policy should the U.S. follow to protect the lives of people living in this wonderful country?

Hiding your head in the sand isn't going to work, what's your next solution? I'll be glad to go over them one by one with you, please try to stay on topic.

Four days later and Orv, Pesticide Illness and Felx have not given us any specific recommendations for ridding the world of terrorism! They just want to be AGAINST something, they have no clue how to solve the problem.

"Bring the troops home would be a start". Yes indeed, it would be the start of terrorism here in the U.S. on a scale that none of us can imagine.

Support our Troops! Let them win and come home!

Remember be specific and stay on topic.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Libra

If you live with other people you have to resign yourself to the fact that you all want to do different things today. The more you urge togetherness, the more everyone will be determined under tonight's Full Moon to do their own thing even if it creates problems. Try to play this down as much as possible because it's also a lunar eclipse and getting angry won't solve anything; it may even make the situation worse. Maybe this is a chance for you to do what you want for a change, too? Anyway, enjoy yourself tonight, Libra because you deserve it!
