Has anybody heard anything in regards to a buyout for team members? I have heard different things in regards to team members getting a buyout and temps getting moved up to full time team member positions.

There might be a buy out , but that won't create any full time jobs, they will have that many more temps .

I hear there will be a buyout... And yes they will hire more temps into full time positions. They are predicting 600/800 retirements in the next 4-5 years even without a buyout. So we will all just have to wait it out and hope for the best.

The rumor mongers keep saying Nov 29th they will announce the buyout, 2 weeks pay for every year you have worked there. I hope about a 1000 people in front of me takes it so I can finally get to day shift .

a buyout is when a company offers you money to leave at a specified date. As an incentive they offer you cash lump sum to leave. Traditionally they offer more cash for the longer you have been with company. Example they could offer $20000 per employee and add $2000 per year of service and medical insurance paid. They could also add to make it more tempting to leave that all who stay retirement with full benefits will be at 30 years from that point on instead of 25. This would make more people leave sooner

when u say traditionally, you mean union companies that HAVE to. of course toyota never has offered buy outs based on yrs of service (its been a flat rate of 30k, which you bring home about 14k) and of course no one has ever threatened the increase of 30 and out so thats just more rhetoric that you love to blow!

Ya know, I don't expect u to understand that those hostess EMPLOYEES made a decision that their pride and dignity were more important than being bullied by a company! You're too stupid to understand the union didn't make them decline anything! The people are the union and their (and the others before them) sacrifice makes it possible for there to a thing called MIDDLE CLASS AMERICA! I have no doubt that u are one that also criticizes when america is in a war....too stupid to realize that those that died in previous wars are the very reason you are even allowed to voice an opinion (regardless of how stupid the statement)!
Ps....did you notice how I put that all in one post? It's really not hard if u knew how to punctuate.

. Again you are to cowardly to admit your wrong again you won't answer the question on what you would do about hiring a union plumber. Why because you talk the talk but you don't walk the walk so typical.! By the way I come from a very heavily represented military family so yes I do support and respect what they have done for us. And yes I do have a heavy representation of family that work for unions. They see all the shortcomings of the union. Split wages of there fellow union workers yes the union allows that. The acceptance of temps to keep cost down yep they do that. Also they are getting less than promised for their retirement hmmm good guarantee there!

you are too cowardly to admit that you would rather make the union plumbers wages as opposed to lower non-union wages! yes, the unions have all had to make harsh concessions in the workforce and its all BECAUSE OF COWARDS LIKE YOURSELF that want to see the end of middle class america! the fact remains... if not for the union, every single concession you mention would not be called a concession. it would have been a "take as little as i care to give you" mandate from the company. now argue that nutsack!

the cowards are the union workers themselves nut sack! I did not vote for their concessions moron they did. How was I involved ! That was there choice to vote the way they did not mine. I take the wages given me as a condition to work at the labor of my choice. I know there are thousands who would gladly take my job at $20 less an hour! I know the day is coming when I will have a choice to make work here for lower wages or leave that will be my choice! But because I know that will be the case I'm telling everyone if you any to change the outcome of that fact, man up and start your own business be prepared control your own income. Don't sit like a helpless dog waiting for your bone to be thrown to you. Get to work rely on yourself. I bet there are thousands of Hostess people who have started and have their own business. They will be hurt by loss of income but will be ok because they started a business of their own. So for the 8th time would you hire the $800 union plumber to to install the water heater in your house safely and correctly, or would you hire the $500 non union guy?

I try to see both sides, but I see no profit in having a union!! The best thing tms have is the union wanting in!! Businesses will do what they have too to be profitable! Union or not!!
