Yeah, I'm confused. If Siloam Springs is supposed to be the most religious freaky town this side of Salt Lake City, why do it's resident spit in the face of God when one of their favorites defies the Bible? I was told for years that suicide is a sin from which there is no return, so why is everyone saying "heaven has another angel" when referring to this kid who killed himself? Do the rules in the Bible only apply to "other people" and can be changed "willy nilly" to suit your impression of the perfect world...? Either he is burning in Hell right now for his act or your Bible is a fraud. Pick one. Can't have it both ways.

Gonna have to agree with this poster. You can't be a community of Bible thumpers and honestly think that this boy is dancing with the angels tonight. Believe in all the Bible or none of it. Suicide is the worst of all sin and he is paying the price as Satan's boy-toy today.

We are not ones to determine who gets into heaven and who doesn't. The only sin I'm sure that is unforgivable is turning your back on God and refusing his salvation, not taking your own life. I don't think any of us can say what happened between Cody and God when he faced Him. I choose to live with the hope that he is with Him. Why would it upset you for people to have hope about his soul's final destination? No one will ever have the proof on this one (at least to share with anyone else) anyway.

Suicide is self murder. So, if Cody is in heaven, then the scores of convicted murderers in our state's death row are headed there as well, right? Again, you can't have it both ways. Either all murderers burn in hell for their crime, or none of them do. By passing over his murder as a sin, you are saying that murder is OK — as long as you think a lot of the murderer, who is Cody in this case. Is this community embracing the memory of a murderer? I will never understand how the people of this town can be so self-rightious one minute, and suffer from complete amnesia the next. This kid was a murderer and is should be in a place paying dearly for his crime, not rewarded with angel wings.

But i have to ask you this, what was he suppose to say in front of a groupe of family and friends? Was he suppose to look at this young man's mother and say and your son is burning in hell right this minute? I think sometimes in a sitution like this one we do what we think is right and maybe he is right.

So, Christian religion is based on the art of lying when necessary to make someone feel good? If a preacher has no problem saying someone is in heaven, they should have no worries about saying Cody was currently dancing with the devil. Any preacher who doesn't have the guts to spell it out doesn't deserve to lead a church. Why is religion only correct when it works in your favor??

Interesting comments. Confused in Fairfax, Yup, Yep, you all need help!! I am not sure who is worse, the person who doesn't know the Bible or the person who just thinks they know it?!?! I believe the Bible says that we are all sinners. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins. When a person dies, if that person has come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord, then they most definately are going to Heaven!! I ask you what sin is greater than the other?? The only unpardonable sin is the rejection of Jesus Christ. My simple prayer today is that people come to know the Lord today, before it is too late. Have a great day and love one another!!

All that typing and nothing about the topic. Are you one of the kook-aid drinkers who also thinks this boy is sitting on a cloud fluttering his angel wings in the breeze?

Being saved allows you to commit all the crime against God and humanity you want with no afterlife repercussions...?!?! And people wonder why freaks like Tony Alamo and Jim Jones can have such an influence over people. Jonestown should have been in Benton County and they could still be thriving with the current batch of Kool-aid drinkers.

Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." If we could "earn" or "work" our way into Heaven, then why did Jesus have to die on the Cross?? Let me ask you, what sin is greater than another?? Once a person is saved, can they get unsaved?? If so, what happens if you think or do something, and then get killed in a car wreck before you have the chance to repent for that sin?? Well, from what most people think on the blog, you would go to hell. I know one thing, someday, we will all have to bow and we will either be welcome into heaven or turned away. That will be determined by our salvation.

Someone told you that if they committ suicide, they are headed for hell?? I would ask for the Chapter and Verse!! Life is too precious!! We all need to ask for forgiveness and salvation!!

Yup wrote: Exodus 20:13 Deut. 5:17 1 Corinth 6:20 Need more? Yes!! I would say I need more!! The Chapter and verses you listed do not address suicide or taking your own life. If we can agree, murder, killing, or suicide IS a sin, then, if all sin needs forgiveness, what happens when a teenager does not "Honor Thy Father and Mother", does not ask forgiveness and is killed in a car wreck on the way home?!? Are you saying that they will go to hell because they didn't ask forgiveness for that sin. If you are just picking and choosing verses, go up to 1 Corinthians 6: 17 it says "Flee Fornication" or having sex. Have you ever had sex?? Is that unpardonable sin?? My point is that we have all come short of the glory of God, We are all sinners. The way to heaven is to ask for forgiveness for our sins admitting that we are a sinner and that we are lost, and asking God to Save US!! Thoughts, Ideas, Suggestions?? May I ask, are you a Christian?? Where are you headed when you die or when Jesus returns??

Well, at least you are not "on the fence". The Bible says in Revelation 3: 16, "So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth." Too many times people ride the fence and they do not take a stand for what they believe in. The question is what do they believe, why do they believe, and is it right?? I am a Christian. The reason I call myself a Christian is I realized I was lost, a creation without a Creator, I was a sinner, and I needed God!! What do you think happens when a person dies?? I visited with a "friend" and he asked me "I wonder what happens when you die" I told him without Christ you would spend an enternity in Hell. With Christ you would spend an enternity in Heaven with Him!! I know that God wants you to know him. I believe God puts all of us in situations that will point to him. This tragic loss of life has led us to engage a conversation. God Loves You!!

So, hell is full of Buddhists and anyone else who doesn't believe the same thing...?
What if, according to Buddhist religion, all non-believers spend eternity in THEIR version of hell?
Yet one more reason religion is insane.
Damned if you do; damned if you don't.
