Asthma Walk goal is to raise $65,000

The American Lung Association of Illinois is gearing up for its annual Asthma Walk fundraiser on April 12 at Edwardsville High School.
The 5K walk raises money to support asthma research, including 22 national Asthma Clinical Research Centers and local Asthma Adventure Camps. According to the association, an estimated 20 million Americans suffer from asthma. Six million of those are children under age 18. The goal this year is to raise $65,000.
Tina Barnard, director of the Southwest Service Area for the association, says the money raised pays for many local programs. Chiefly among these is asthma camp. Read more
