Sonya, you're one of the only reasonable arguments on this post. It seems you're arguing with fools dear. A Mom can't articulate or reason a cognizant thought with punctuation and KK is one K off of plumb dumb. I do think you could definately spend your time more productively on forums more reasonable geared toward making our world a better place. I won't pretend to understand where you'd fit in, but you obviously know the net well enough to find where you fit in. I do admire your capability to think for yourself.

I will admit Gotta say that it's an exercise in futility. While there are many good people in small communities like Sevierville & I have many friends there. Some tend to be very set in their ways & would never entertain the idea of doing things any different then they have been done for the last 50 years. I actually spent a very small portion of time on this blog. I'm on other blogs as well depending on how much free time I have.

We agree on that,But my freedom to do what I want to do should end before it hurts others,as the abuse of alcohol and drugs always does.I think if you had said you were for legalizing drugs because you thought that it was a losing battle and not have come off as a supporter of illegal drug dealers, and users, you wouldn't have recieved as much critizism.Neil Boortz would call alcoholics ,obese and drug addicts very stupid people.

If I sit in the privacy of my own home & do drugs I'm hurting no one except may be myself & that should be legal. But if I get behind the wheel of a car & drive under the influence that's when the right turns in to a violation. I don't think drugs & alcohol should be used as a excuse in court either. It may explain a defendants actions but it shouldn't excuse their actions. Every right has a responsibility & drugs should be no different than drinking. You should have the right to use drugs but if you drive under the influence or commit a crime you should be held accountable. But throwing people in jail for mere possession of drugs is not the answer. You can't legislate morality. More lives have been ruined by the drug laws then by drugs its self.

Sonya, yes, Sevierville is a much safer place now. Why? Because the folks who buy that legal beer and smoke those legal cigarettes are not the ones going out and robbing and stealing to feed their expensive habits. My guess is just about all of them buy their own beer and cigarettes with money they have earned at a job.

Why the heck do you think the crime rate keeps climbing? It's because of drugs and the people who sell and buy them. Didn't you just read in the Mountain Press a few days ago about the shooting in the parking lot of O'Charley's in the early morning hours when it was closed? They were not there meeting up to buy beer or cigarettes. They were dealing prescription drugs and now one of them has a bullet in his head. Along with drugs comes crime and violence. Also with it comes destroying the body God gave you and the danger that one day soon you might end up DEAD long before your time. Why don't you seem to get it? I have yet to read one story about someone breaking into somebody's home or vehicle to steal stuff because they needed the money to buy beer or cigarettes.

And, what's making our insurance rates so high is that we're all paying for all the free health care the illegal aliens are getting. If you watched the news you would see the stories about all the hospitals who have shut down their emergency rooms because all the free treatment of illegals has made them too expensive to run any more.

What an idiotic idea to legalize these drugs for fun and recreation. Two wrongs don't make a right so just because alcohol was made legal doesn't make it right to legalize drug use too. In the first place they were not intended to be used in that way. The fools may be consenting adults (many of them aren't though) but they are frying their brains and damaging the bodies God gave them and shortening their lives on that stuff and causing people who love and care about them a lot of heart ache and worry. So, if you think making it easier for them to get drugs would make things better then think again.

We need to legalize ALL drugs. We also need to get rid of the EMT services for at least 6 months. Then just let these pathetic monkeys "have a good time" all the way out. It would be like Darwin on ice.

I used to be a drug dealer, only to adults though. Thats bad enough. I been clean for five years now and loving it. Done all kinds of drugs really hard stuff and I didnt blame the dealer for it. Just myself, however the stupid S>O>B> that sells to kids should be whipped near to his/her death for it. Our childrens minds arent "ADULT" enough to make the right decisions all the time, so thats where the "ADULTS" "DRUG DEALERS" should take responsibility for their own stupidity and stay the hell away from all children!!!!!!!!

these people who are upset about the drug bust should spend one day with us at our business. Have you ever been called out on a wreck the middle of the night to clean up the mess and distuction made by someone who has bought these drugs and thought it was cool. I have watched my husband hook the cables to remove a teenagers body from a car a have talked to parents who have come to me and wanted to get the last of their childrens belongings out and crying the whole time. People like you make me sick i hope they bust someone everyday for this along with the drunk drivers because you can look on my lot right now and see what we pulled in just this weekend from kids on drugs and drunk drivers. And if you need pain meds go to a real doctor in knoxville i do.I hope your children will never be one of those that we lend comfort too.

My beautiful daughter dies in your town from painkiller overdose. And no, no one shoved them down her throat and I'm not blaming anyone for her addiction. But, it was easier for her to get them in Sevierville, than it was in Houston, Texas and that's pisses me off. Also, I was told by the police that there was an abundant supply found in the home - her husband's supply. I thought at the time that "an abundant supply" sounded like a lot more than a prescription, but, nothing was done about it. So, as long as you have Judge Ogle and Judge Vance protection people, the problems in Sevierville will just get worse.

You have to be either a complete idiot or never been out of the house or to anywhere in Houston or any other big city. Houston like everywhere else these days is full of drugs, gangs and 'script houses-(clinics where anyone can walk into and tell the "Dr" what kind of Rx they would like) and all they have to do is go to any number of drug stores to get these legal drugs, which by the way, A LOT of people actually need and who legitimately follow the instructions to help relieve pain. Sounds like your daughter and son-in-law had the system figured out, which obviously again doesn't take a rocket science and got what they enjoyed doing. She was unfortunate to have taken too many, but it certainly had nothing to do with the judges. The "War on Drugs" is a revenue making, life destroying, court clogging, jail overcrowding, ill-concieved, police abused, complete waste of time and money, both for the people and our government. It needs to be completely overhauled, as does most of our laws dictating what and how we do things daily. I live in Houston have lived in Sevierville and about 16 other cities in 9 states, with great jobs though being transferred to advance and the 'script clinic business is a huge business raking in millions to the malingering fools that love them and take advantage of them and a serious drain on our already "public health system" (yep we already have one which doesn't work). People, "Hope and Change" was a big a farce as the entire administration is turning out to be. Your local judges have their hands tied. I AM sorry for your loss, her fault or not, it shouldn't have happened, but is way too easy for those motivated to hurt themselves with abuses all too common...everywhere. I'll assume you knew your daughter, the judges didn't. They are there to "judge" within the limits of the law for fools that take advantage of their own freedom to destroy themselves.

I lived in Houston until 4 years ago. My point was that it was easier for my daughter to get drugs in Sevierville than it was in Houston. Yes, they are readily available in Houston to those that know where to get them. In Sevierville she got them delivered to her at home and for considerably less.
My references to the judges did not concern my daughter. I am of the opinion that if the lawyer representing you is a good friend of these two judges, it doesn't matter what you are convicted of, you'll get probation.

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't have a drug dealer. I just know that drug prohibition doesn't work. This country needs to stop using kids as an excuse to outlaw everything except going to church on Sundays. It's fashionable to be a safety Nazi these days. Look at the seat belt laws for example. Years ago kids could just get on a bike & go riding. Now days parents make them put on helmets & knee pads like they are going to war. What about prohibition of alcohol & cigarettes do you also support that? After all a kid could get a fake ID & buy both at the local 7-11. In fact it happens everyday so I guess the clerks are white trash just like the drug dealers huh ? If you are against cigarette & alcohol prohibition I'm betting it's because you drink & smoke. People only want to give up rights when it doesn't inconvenience them. It's not society's place to baby sit your children that's your job. Legal or illegal if kids want to experiment with drugs they will find a way to do it. And I don't recall anyone saying these people sold drugs to kids to begin with.
Thousands of chronic pain suffers have to suffer because this country's attitude towards prescription pain medications. Doctors are afraid to prescribe sufficient pain medications because they may lose their medical license. Kids shouldn't be using drugs I don't support that. But should these people have to continue to suffer because you can't keep your kids away from drugs? America is by no means the land of the free. If it was consenting adults would be allowed to choose their drug of choice. I guess you need the government to control what you do with your own body. But I'm a educated adult that doesn't need the government to tell me what I can & can't put in to my own body. Personally, I have more respect for the drug dealers than I do the DEA.
well if this country offends you so bad, you could go live somewhere else.......hmmmm , then I guess you'd really see what it's like when a government interferes with your buisness.......something to ponder
