Cindy Ogle- Gatlinburg City Manager

Just starting a thread, post what you think about the micro-managing, overbearing old hag! I just did!:)

Cindy Cameron Ogle has a stranglehold on this city. She has run it into the ground so hard I don't know if we will ever recover. I'm a shop owner in Gatlinburg and I am tired of her tyrant ways. The mayor and commisioners are pointless because they are all scared to death of her. We need a new manager ASAP! Please help somebody!

What, everybody to afraid to speak up against her. She is awful and thinks she owns the whole town. Come on people, say something!

It would appear that there is at least 3 people in the thread who will be running against her at the next election! Good deal! Can I ask what are some of the things that you would fix right away?

First, if I were manager, I would start by letting the department heads run their respective departments without stepping in unless need be. Second, revamp outdated city property and fleets. Most of the city buildings are crumbling to the ground. Third, let someone else be mayor instead of drawing straws at the council meeting to see who gets it. Any other ideas anyone?

I agree with BurgMan...revamp run down city buildings (like the crack they knew about for years, which cost 2 lives and those of their loved ones). Cindy's major concerns are about making herself look good such as the revenue coming in and less spending to make it a safe city. It is the store owners and visitors that pay for the marketing of Gatlinburg...but Cindy gets the pat on the back!

Now the cost to the tax payers of Gatlinburg will cost more to "make it right" for the 2 workers that died, because of her lack of concern and inability to manage priorities properly...Yes, Cindy you didn't care until now, so you should be ashamed and loose your job as City Manager since you didn't meet your job requirements!

She is more concerned at making the surface look good as she berates those who make it happen.
Management is not being a dictator, but getting the job done through others, but Department Heads can't do their jobs. In fact, the employees (who know more then anyone else)can't do their jobs to make the city a safer and better place.

I agree that something has to change and it sounds like starting at the top is the best and most logical opition.

The loss of lives are in her hands and she should be held accountable for the lack of meeting life and safety requirements IF I have the factual information that she was aware of the crack and did nothing. I am concerned that she will try to hide this too like she is known to do...

Gatlinburg has gotten so out of control, that we won't be back. The Hotels are nasty, food service is mediocre, traffic is terrible, and stuff is severely over priced.

Then, add the foreign, hateful, nasty shop keepers, and Maggie Valley likes my money better.

I posted a comment to your statement, but I am curious what you think about how the wastewater treatment plant accident is being handled. I wonder if Cindy is hiding all she can!

gatlinburg is just a run down self contained little tee shirt tourist town that no one gives a s@it about except the people that have lived there all there lives .how sad you all are. you are like fish in a small fish bowl going in circles

Lets not forget how see shunned the Storey family on the day of April 5th. Then went to the media and said she expressed her deepest sympathy to the families. Yet, not one word to the family personally as she walked by them 5 times and then hid in a office right in the other room. Don't think we didn't all notice everyone hiding from us as Search and Rescue tried to find Don and John. Shame on You!

I can't believe Robbie Butler didn't win city commisioner! Are the residents really happy with the same officials in office over and over again? Robbie Butler would have been a truthful voice in group of under-handed, shady officials that are in office now. It's time for a change! Something has to give! Cindy Ogle has to go!

They don't draw straws. Literally, they decide among themselves who will be next!! The 2 Mikes, Jerry Hayes, etc!!

The name says it all, it's all about who you are, one day thenew order will take over and these dinosaurs will have to lay it down,,,think for a momment about the statement..

It sickens me to see these snobs look down on all the local workers and tourists alike not realizing the importance and value of both. Laughing all the way to the bank, they treat the local people like crap and see all the tourists as "cashcows", trust me I have been around and know for a fact how they veiw both. Again sickens me to see how theyact outside their butt kissing meetings.

Robbie Butler should have won! Of course, the name Cindy Ogle says it all especially OGLE. Thinking of changing my last name to Ogle to see if I get treated any differently and maybe find a high paying job ordering people around!!! Lol jk Also wasn't it found out that Cindy Ogle has been "hiding" almost $2 million in the city's rainy day fund. I heard the auditor was completing the audit and said something in front of the other city employees and everyone was stunned. This incident occurred awhile back. But deny city employees a raise and refuse to hire any replacements from where other employees have left or retired. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Police Dept or Fire Dept is short several employees and the city refuses to rehire any. Word is finally getting out about great Gatlinburg! This city is getting as bad as the neighboring cities!!!! Lmao

This probably where $65 k of drug fund money has been. This money is only to me used for police programs and nothing else.hope she gets burned for this one.

Gat was great when I moved here 28 years ago. I am a navy combat wounded vet with a purple heart. I got this because all my life I was brain washed to believe commi's were bad. so I took an rpg under my jeep and spent 9 months in a navel hospital. now the u.s. government gives american businesses a tax break to hire abroad workers and no tax break for u.s. citizens. the russain women in gat treat our visiters bad and they say bad things about our town. russians think that we are stupid and ignorant. but I won't spend any money to go vist russia. if there like the ones hear, who would want that around them.
we americans don't like or want the russians hear. not because there russians but because ther aXXholes. remeber if a russian works in the business then don't spend money there and don't recomend to anyone. this is america for all those who may have forgotton. support your fellow americans and there businesses. as far as the gat lady that brings in tourist. gatlinburg is a pretty town, but 95% of the people here are pill junkies and theives. and the local police are like the gustopo i wwII. basically it's a bunch of backward thinking people and the local government is made of these same people.

remember buford pusser in the real walking tall story. that whole walking tall story is about how crooked the whole state of tenn is. and it runs ramped in sevierville, we need an fbi investigation. if it werent for the park Gatlinburg would have nothing for tourist. cindy ogle may be a power horse in gat., but even she can't escape kharma. think about that cindy wanna be ogle by blood. ur like the rest a looser. c ya when kharma comes to see you.
