There sure seem to be a lot of accidents in the Crescent City area. Too bad
for the driver and the passenger. I can't imagine being responsible for the death of a friend. |

Car accidents happen. The driver was not drinking. The person who died was his really close family friend who chose not to wear a seatbelt. The driver has to live with himself now and he is miserable. He ran 'cause he was in shock. His friend was still alive when he ran into the woods, covered in blood. If you don't know anything about it, why post your hateful, ignorant comments??? This story is about real people in real pain!!

Wow. If his friend was still alive then he should have stayed to help or get help. Instead he took off while his friend died? That's even worse seeing how he could have helped save his life. |

this accident happened at 02:10 AM Friday Morning, not 02:10 PM

I would like to say that I am soo sorry that this had to happen. The man that lost his life was a great man. He would give his shirt off his back for anyone. His daughter was in the vehicle as well. I am shocked and hurt. I hope that his family gets through this and that the person that was driving will "man up" and turn himself in. If it was really an accident then why did the driver run? My thoughts and prayers are with Ron's family.

Why should anyone watch what they say? I am more sorry for the man who died than the so called friend who left him there at the scene. He was in shock and afraid of getting in trouble so he ran? His life was obviously more important than his friend's life. He may feel bad about it he's still alive and kicking so sympathy for him just isn't there. Sorry. Whatever he did or didn't do to cause the crash, he chose to run so now he's facing charges for leaving the scene of a fatal accident. If he wasn't doing anything wrong, why was his first thought to run? Running for help is one thing. Running to hide is another. Sorry.
My thoughts are with the man who died. |

The driver ran because he couldn't help. He asked his friend before he left, "Are you ok?" His friend told him, "yes." There were 3 other people there more equipped to help--3 people who were not covered in blood with broken ribs. It was a bad split decision (to run) that can't be taken back. But should it really cost this father of 3 young girls his whole life? He is facing a possibility of life in prison. And he is mourning the loss of his friend and carrying the weight of his own guilt for causing this tragedy. How much should one person suffer for one bad choice--well, a few bad choices? How much should his children and the rest of his family suffer? It was an accident and running was a forgivable mistake that has caused such huge consequences, pain and misery for all involved (the driver the most), it is unbelievable. I feel sorry for people that can't find compassion in their own hearts for this man.

It is rummored that Ron the deceased was alive and talking before the suspect left the scene. It is also rummored that Ron told the suspect to leave and not to worry. While in shock with a head injury he chose to leave as he was driving on a suspended liscense. I personally know this suspect and know what pain he is in over this tragedy. It is also rommored that there was another male in the vehicle that also ran. Not confirmed and not a reliable source to the rummor. They should have checked the females for drugs as rummor has it that they imbibe in Meth? The suspect is a very nice and considerate person as I have known him for ten years. I wish the best for all of the parties involved and the families on both sides.
