Today, the Garland newspaper arrived in my mail box. Within it is an article about how the fee attached to paying your utilities bill via credit card is going up to $3.75 for payments under 600$.

$3.75 people. That's 45$ by the end of the year. 45$ is a bunch of school lunches, or a weeks worth of groceries.

What do you think of this?

Dang! Are you serious? I just brought the paper in but have yet to look through it. Was thinking of paying online but think I will stick with snailmail.

I think it's outrageous that they should charge any fee at all, if the bill is paid on time.
What about paying at Walmart or Fiesta, is it still the 1.00 fee for that or has that increased ?

How is it that sending out snail mail is cheaper for the utility than a CC fee.

Okay, you count gas, then it depends on how efficient you are at keeping stamps and where the closest mail drop happens to be
Oh there's the cost of your checks and bank fees ....
Everyone is out to get fees... can't late fees be collected anymore ?

do you know you're paying for more than the utilities? they overcharge and then funnel it back to pay for the fourth celebration, golf tournaments, plays, etc- about 30 million a year, but no one really knows how much because they refuse to disclose the spending and decide it in secret meetings. Look up Garland Citizen's forum. It's really a tax. You just never know how much it'll be.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Leo

Even though you usually pride yourself on being the strong silent type, love has a way of unlocking your tongue. The words coming out of your mouth may be familiar, but your sense of timing makes all the difference right now. Keep in mind that you never know how a risky gesture will work out, although you can always hope for the best. When in doubt, take the more cautious path.
