They've been around for 50 years...and the sandwiches we ate there tasted like they've been around for 50 years also!! Dry, overcooked, tasteless. Owner didnt seem to care when informed about the terrible experience we had. Shame they won't be around much longer.

You must have picked a bad day. The Gyro is great. The salads are even greater. The Hot Dogs are just not what they used to be when Tommy was the boss. The place is CLEAN. Main Avenue Clifton looks great too.

Everything at the Midtown Grill is made-to-order. I drive 40 minutes (from Montvale, NJ)--Bergen County, just to get there before they close. I'm there twice a week on weekdays, and every Saturday.(Three times a week!!!) Everything is unbelievably delicious, and with there wide menu that offers so many choices, you can get something different every time.

Luke you're right on this one. It's a clean family restaurant for all 50 years. Hard working folks run it that are proud of their business. They fly the USA flag outside everyday and have great festive decorations for each seasonal holiday. They also support many good causes for Veterans and community causes. StoLat to them all.

I used to go to the Midtown 'back in the day,' like 47 years ago. Stopped in several years ago but it wasn't the same. Well, of course it wasn't the same. Tom, Gus, and John were gone and so was the atmosphere. But, everything in life does have that tendency to change.

Stop again. It's still a nice place that reminds you of the song about friends. Added to the menu are gyro's and many great salads. Still has a great dog all the way. Tommy's recipe. P.S. Main Avenue is looking great with all its improvments and Clifton is still a great family place.

William from teaneck, your so incredible on so many levels. Midtown has some of the best food i;ve ever had, i drive 30 minutes everyday just to have some gyros. If i ever had a Problem Jimmy and Jerry would always either re-make my food or give me my money back, and no matter what, i always go back. so stop being self-centered and stupid, if you had your own business, you wouldn't like it if someone wrote bullshit on one of your articles. so how about instead of trying to ruin someone elses business in this state of time with the recession going on, how about you mind your own business and keep stuff to yourself. You are very rude.

I think many more folks would enjoy this place if they served succotash. Since the place looks like a dump, you should eat food that makes you feel like taking a dump. Hot dogs and succotash will cause you to dump for sure! While some of the food may be tasty, it’s sure to cause high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. But the biggest problem is that the place smells like mold and mildew. Get your food to go!
The best thing about the place is the nude picture of Ernie Anastos on the wall!

All this talk of beans concerns me. Everyone has gas and eliminates it by burping or passing it through the rectum. However, many people think they have too much gas when they really have normal amounts. Most people produce about 1 to 4 pints a day and pass gas about 14 times a day. Gas is made primarily of odorless vapors—carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and sometimes methane. The unpleasant odor of flatulence, the gas that passes through the rectum, comes from bacteria in the large intestine that release small amounts of gases containing sulfur. Although having gas is common, it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Understanding causes, ways to reduce symptoms, and treatment will help most people find relief. Thank goodness I no longer have to deal with hazardous waste materials, other than my own!

I go to The Famous Midtown Grill at least three times a week and never have I seen a nude picture on the wall nor do they sell beans. I have been going there for many years and the food is always amazing. It is like a new experience everytime I go, the Midtown Grill is always clean and never have I smelled mold and mildew. As for the thing about high blood pressure and cholesterol, if you are prone to have either of those, I wouldn't suggest going out to eat anywhere. The owners are always there and they are always willing to take care of you if you are not satisfied.

You have gyros every day? And drive 30 minutes everyday to get them? Wow! Maybe you should try some other restaurants to see what good food is. And how many times have you had problems when they remade your food and/or gave you your money back? Sounds like it was quite a few times.

Who said I'm writing bullshit? I'm writing about my experience. I have to "mind my own business?". Gee, I could have sworn this is a place for "comments". You have your opinion..I have mine.

William, I agree completely with you sentiments. These people feed us swill and poison and we should celebrate their accomplishments? What ever happened to proper nutrition or even common sense? Our country is headed for an unmitigated disaster in terms of our health and fitness. A place like this has a right to exist, but the fact that so many people make bad choices in terms of their eating habits should be a major concern to all of us. We all pay for it, and it is going to bankrupt the country not to mention the pain and suffering it can cause. You morons had aught to try eating some vegetables, fruits, whole grains and nuts.

Are you kidding? How is expressing an opinion libelous? You don't know what your talking about! You are comfortable tradition - what your familiar with. That's very nice, but it has nothing to due with the facts. Do some homework and learn about health and proper nutrition. It is to your own benefit, for your own health.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Sagittarius

Pay attention to your health as the Moon enters Taurus and your sixth house of health and service today; it might be time for a check up. With Neptune and Jupiter in your third house, nervous tension could be leading you into bad habits that will undermine your health. If you feel stressed out, reach for your athletic shoes instead of a double martini and you'll be happy with the results.
