Winder Police Dept charged James (Jim) Lynn, age 42, with his wife's murder. The newspaper reported that his first wife died sometime around 1989 in Metter. She was found in bathtub and her death was ruled suicide. Does anyone remember this or have info about this? I am having a hard time finding a newspaper article on this. Also, does anyone remember her name? Thanks!

asd - please tell the true story

He has been charged with murdering his wife. He apparently confessed and led GBI to her body, which he had dumped in a well. So tragic. She leaves behind 4 beautiful children. The story can be found at www.barrowjournal.com |

yes i know the true story. no doubt. i just believe if you don't know the true story from the police dept or family memebers you shouldn't post untrue facts. what you hear are RUMORS and what your spreading are MORE rumors.

My words are not rumor. I am not family but my info came from an experienced police officer. None the less this is a terrible tragedy for this young womans family, Jim Lynn's family(not Jim) but most especially the children he deprived of their mother. To me it is a lose lose situation any way you look at it except for the fact that Jim may finally get what he so richly deserves. Those are he facts asd!

asd - i understand what you are saying. www.barrowjournal.com reports that Metter police are dusting off the "case" of Julie's death. I can only hope that IF he was responsible for her death that justice will be served.

According to www.barrowjournal.com , Metter police are "dusting off the files" of Julie's death. Let's hope and pray that if he did do it, he will be prosecuted for that crime as well. I just left the funeral home visitation for the wife he murdered last week. Her 4 children are pitiful. God bless all the families that have been affected by this man! |

The death of Tonya has many deeply sadden and we are sorry for the loss that her family and children have suffered. This is not meant to be disrespectful in the least, but as a somewhat objective point of view. Those who knew James and Tonya Lynn well, knew that their marriage was no fairy tale. Don't get me wrong the death is not justified by any troubles in their marriage. But the media has made James out to be some sort of horrible, vicious, criminal with no regard to anyone or anything. That is not the case. Tonya has her fair share of faults to attribute to their disfunction. We are not the one to judge James or his possible actions that occurred. Leave the judgement to the one whom knows the actual events that occurred from an neutral point of view. James will have to answer for his actions when his judgement day comes. Both families and the 4 children are in our hearts.

I was great friends with Julie Johnson (I'm also her cousin), Jim's first wife. We went to school together in Metter and she was a beautiful girl outside and in who loved life and loved to laugh. All of us (her friends) know she would not and could not have committed suicide and I'm so glad that justice will finally hopefully be done and that sorry piece of crap prosecuted. We have lived with the loss all of these years.
