The Council had better authorize the furloughs, since they may be needed. As the article states, that would give Mr. West the ammunition he needs, should the contract negotiations fail. The Council get moving on the long delayed airport garage. The airport is one of the drivers of the local economy. The Councilmembers should agree to post their calendars online. Billboards and the like should definitely be given a moratorium. That should include the trucks who carry billboards, and are built for the sole purpose of moving their signs about the City. Speaking of such trucks, are they paying appropriate fees and permits? There are a number of them in the city on a regular basis.

Let's get on with business as it should be. Unions are making the city look like idiots. Everyone pitches in to help our economy. No argument. The city spends way too much time "negotiating" and "studying". This all costs money. We can't please everyone all the time. The airport improvement should have been half done by now and the garage isn't even in the construction stage yet. Then we have residents whining about the construction noise and the traffic. I don't recall any homes nearby. This is all part of city growth that must happen in order for the city to thrive, or in these lean time, just survive. Too much talk and little action, makes the city look weak.

How much of a raise for confidenial employees and management? What about the extra 5 days the managers get? How can they furlough when they are on salary? All the talk about the employees, what about upper management, what are they giving to the General Fund?

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Taurus

If you've been neglecting that special someone in your life over the past few days because you've been so busy with the festivities, try to make up for it today. Maybe you could have some time alone with them, or perhaps you simply need to remind them how much you love them. Don't be afraid to open up your heart to them, and to let them do the same to you.
