absolutely.....
btw the girls mother and child's grandmother is only 40 years old (according to newsday). sounds like another trashy family looking to cash in.
it's unfortunate what happened but NO LAWSUITS should be filed in the case of stupidity.
where were all these loving family members when their so-called relatives went to move in an illegal apartment??? why didn't they invite them to live with them???now that money's involved and lawsuits are being filed, everyone's become so distraught, give me a break

people who live in ILLEGAL apartments are just as guilty as the landlords.

They were looking for cheap rent. Where else would they live? Yeah, stick it to the Babylon town residents. Stop putting the blame on everybody except yourselves.

Not for nothing, but isn't it also the responsibility of people that live in these places?

What a bunch of trash. I hope they're enjoying their 15 minutes of fame. Funny how they all come out of the woodwork like cockroaches if there's a buck to be made.

Let me see this jurkoff rented out a condemned building and ignored warnings about safety hazzards.

Then, he claimed it was all due to racism.

Well now, tell it to the judge at the time of sentancing. Creep belongs in jail

It is my undestanding that the town did post condemded signs. If this idiot Milord took them down then how are the simple minded folks who rent the places supposed to know. There is very littel doubt in my mind that this greedy SOB thought he could slide by playing the race card. Don't sue the town..Sue him! Take his mansion, his cars, and everything

the landlord had an investment. the
people needed a place to live. the rent was reasonable. does anyone really think the landlord wanted this
to happen. why was the power shut off
by lipa? the landlord seems very upset about the tragedy of people dying. before we judge, let all the facts come out during the investigation

you right. no one seemed to want to help them when they were...forced...to live in these conditions. now every member, extended member, friend, and ppl who said hello to them want a piece of the pie. what a shame. it was not right what the landlord did [renting a condemned building] but you have to be a complete idiot to think there was nothing wrong when you have no power in the building and then on top of that...steal the power. everyone is to blame on this one, sorry to say.

Not really a concern for me but everyone realizes all this will do is raise rents, right? Also depending on how it's worded and how hysterical the rhetoric gets the building code enforcers will probably get more power to screw with everyone over everything.

Someone didn't pay the electric bill and ran a generator INSIDE A HOUSE. That is what caused the deaths and we can't legislate away stupidity.

the taxpayers will have to support all those who cant afford to own, and we will have a severe rental shortage if any like law is passed to make this a felony.,but if this does become a felony the tenant should also be charged as a felon.. hows that Mr. Liotti

Not one positive comment is posted to the families of the victims in this tragic situation which is what's sad about America. Everyone of these comments was posted by some FORTUNATE person who has either never been in a situation where living in a dwelling such as this was necessary or knew anyone close who is/was. No one knows there situations or why they are there. I personally own a house and have taken in those less fortunate because I understand circumstances happen and people suffer temporary setbacks. I too have a daughter and an ex-wife, but am fortunate enough to know they live in a good home, however, no place is safe. This could have happened anywhere, anytime. But if my ex was not as fortunate and neither myself, no matter how hard we worked, what then? Family and friends can't help, or maybe no one is local, then what? With no place to go, what would you do? The streets, a shelter, what? Let's keep in mind here that the father Aaron and his family never wanted or expected this to happen. This should have never happened but it did. I know Aaron works hard and provides as needed and then some. They are not looking to get rich, but how will they pay for the cost of the funerals, pain and anguish, all clearly unexpected? The landlord must assume a lot of responsibility for this but not all. He should be held financially responsible as he was making money off of these illegal dwellings.

Ahh...the taxpayer is already paying for the landlords tennant. It's called underassesed School taxes. Not to mention the other burdens put on a community with a high degree of illegal apartments. If you are a business owner (landlord) pay your fair share. But don't worry looks like there is going to be alot of lower priced homes on Long Island..

I was ready to give up on the human race, until I read Concerned Citizen's message. And I'm no bleeding heart liberal, either. I consider myself a conservative, but thank God, I still have a heart. A child died, people! Happy holidays.

Apparently none of u who has commented has heard of the phrase "Rest in Peace". There were 3 lives lost in this tragic ACCIDENT including that of an innocent 4 year old. Now is not the time to point fingers or name call, their families grief goes way deeper than money because no amount of money can replace the emptiness that is felt when a loved one is lost, so, u all need to stop being so cold hearted and show some empathy and respect.
