When do we move on to Kent, Harris and Creedon? Shouldn't that be the story?

I wasn't in my right mind? Do you know that I called my friend to tell him I couldn't pick up from school that day? Spoke to his mom for awhile instead. I spoke with later when he returned my call.

Newsday will continue to write about it because it is still a STORY! Newsday has never been pro-Tankleff. It is part of the reason why Tankleff got convicted - a small part.
What has anyone learned? NOTHING!
If they haven't learned anything since Pontius Pilate washed the blood of an innocent man off his hands almost 2000 years ago, why should this change anything?
I'll tell you what the lawmakers learned: NOTHING.
They 86'd the Innocence Commission and they did the same for the bill to videotape interrogations.
Business as usual.
Just a side note. It has been reported that one of those on DA Rice's, and Suozzi's Wall of Shame was a Glen Cove resident who contributed to Suozzi - the son of the influential resident. Newsday and most of you seem to forget that is why they made the excuse about those under 19 years of age would not be posted anymore.
When all of LBJ's buddies were getting caught on wiretaps, LBJ changed the law making it almost impossible to obtain a wiretap.
The entire system sucks.
Perhaps but Marty is still killed his parents.

Do you think the ordinary citizens who served as jurors really wanted to convict a 17 yr old for 2 murders? As defense attroney Eric Naiburg said, the evidece was overwhelming and Naiburg believes Marty is guilty too.
The AG even says there's evidence of guilt, but not enough to oredr a new trial.
they also say there is evidence that somesone ELSE may have committed the crime - but not enough.

When is he going to go away? Everyone knows he killed his parents and he got away with murder. The Attorney General didn't exonerate him. He just said that the evidence they have against him wouldn't get a conviction. It was never said that he didn't kill them. Marty now says he wants to find the real killer. He need look no further than in the mirror. He was a spoiled, obnoxious brat then and he's a spoiled, obnoxious "man" now. Do us all a favor, Marty, and JUST GO AWAY!!!
Here, here. But then look at the audience he spoke to.
Can ANYONE explain to me this big deal about the business partner owing Sr. money? If there was a debt, it would have passed to the estate upon Tankleff's death, giving Stierman (sp?) NO REASON to murder anyone.
Also, is it just me, but does anyone want someone WHO SPENT 17 YEARS UPSTATE walking the same streets with thier families???

ERIC NAIBURG, DO you mean the same Eric Naiburg Det.Sgt.Doyle and Det.Lewis who came to my son in law's house on 8/10/04, and told him to fire his lawyers, his own brother, and Paul G., but to use Eric Naiburg, "because he works well with us." That Eric Naiburg?

Well he sure 'worked well' for Tom Spota when he gave the world his professional opinion. There was another lawyer who said the same thing that Marty was guilty. He works REAL WELL with them.

The attorney you hire is supposed to WORK REAL WELL FOR YOU, NOT THE COPS, AND NOT THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY.

Only a brain dead dope like you will believe the crap they feed you day in and day out.

You may have heard the Tankleff investigator say that he could make any 17 yr old in similar circumstances confess to killing his parents. You may have read me saying that in my 29 years in the NYPD, the last 10 in homicide that I thought I could get at least 50% of them to confess even though they didn't do the crime. And that is not with laying a hand on them.

500,000.00, and Seymour wanted it back, no big deal. Yeah.

Steuerman faked his death, cleaned out the joint account he had with the victim, and went to California under an assumed name.

Marty Tankleff wouldn't get the money until he was 25.

Steuerman never gave a nickel to the estate of the Tankleffs.

The ONLY person who benefitted from it was the detective who got the false confession as the money then went to Marty's half sister from Seymour's previous marriage, and she gave it to her husband she was desperate to keep and he invested in Digger O Dells with the detective.

I knew people who would kill you for $50.00. What do you think some would do for $500,000.00?

no one knows for a fact if he actually did it or not. what we do know is that the courts reversed the decision. we also know that the lazy detectives that just wanted to close this case didnt even look into the fathers business associates. and finally, we know that a man spent 17 years incarcerated for a crime that the appellate courts feel he did not commit (the conviction was not overturned because of a lack of a fair trial/due process violation, it was overturned based on newly discovered evidence). I feel very sorry for this man if he lost any and all opportunity to have a normal life because some beer bellied detective wanted to hand his promotion hat on this case. bottom line is: 1 people, especially teenagers, can be minipulated into saying things that didn't happen that are against their penal interest and 2 I find nothing wrong with increased attention to the issue that our criminal justice system is going to the dumps and seperating families and forcing people to live with real criminals. anyone who disagrees should read the book "actual innocense" by barry scheck.

Come on! Stop impersonating Mr. Tankleff. You and anyone else who says he's definitely guilty are ignoring this very vital new evidence that could lead to the arrests of other people. If the legal professionals found it fit to release him, then let him be. Leave Marty alone! He lost his parents then was wrongly convicted and spent time in jail that should have been spent going to college, meeting someone, getting married and starting a family and showing his kids off to his parents who would have loved to see their grandkids.
