How can the State ever allow this to go through? Bucks. Plain & simple. A few palms greased here & there. I can see another ramrod right through the taxpayers

I have no idea why people are complaining.

he should be allowed to build it

the OLD resturant was ALSO a catering hall, and was quite pricey.

the only thing he is doing is trying to bring back the CLASS and AMBIANCE that was once jones beach. we (the people) have allowed places like Jone Beach to CRUMBLE and become JUNK instead of the once nice places that they used to be.

let him build. bring CLASS back to Long Island

Long Island is wasting away with all the dumb NIMBYs we have. For GOD SAKE. We NEED to make IMPROVEMENTS. This will bring YEAR ROUND JOBS AND REVENUE. WHAT is wrong with Long Islanders that want to keep this island from improving?????

I think that what's upsetting many people is the potential change in atmosphere. The park was created so average people could enjoy the ocean. Could this be a first step toward a casino? Contrast Atlantic City with the current Jones Beach, and think about what you'd prefer.

You have NO right to say anything - you do not live here! How about preserving nature? We will go from solitude to Lord knows what with this city building on beautiful dune roads?!?!?!?!?

And why wouldn't the average citizen still be able to enjoy the ocean? The beach is enormous. It has none of the glamour and dignity it once had anyway. Try and get some decent food there - you'll see.

B/c people are selfish, short sighted and like to complain. Trump building there will only bring positives.

Here we go again...Every time Trump wants to build, it is too exclusive, too expensive, too big...And after it become a reality, the community loves it and brags about how wonderful and exclusive they are in the reflection of his genius! I feel sorry for the Trumps- everyone hates them until such time as they can take something from their accomplishments! The list of his building that have turned entire parts of various cities around (and provided hundreds of jobs) is endless! Wise up people- this is a gift, and a problem!

you should learn a thing or two about ISP addresses, so next time you won't sound so stupid.
and yes i live on LI even thou my ISP address is elsewhere and i for one would love to see a nice restaurant/catering hall at jones beach.
JB has been going down hill for years, something does need to get done to mske visitors and tourists want to come to LI. the trump name is always good for business.

here are some ideas:
new building is too big for the location - already the golf course has been affected
the deal was a gift from bernadette castro, former commissioner
the "jobs" it creates are mostly minimum wage
a catering hall and a nightclub will put drunks out on the parkway from afternoon until night
the idea of building there is to conform to the rest of the architecture, without tons of signage
new restaurant -OK, just not so big and gaudy, leave out the catering and nightclub

Of course they say that; that's what he told them.

The people who are defending Trump are his employees and business associates. They stand to gain financially by excluding the middle class from Jones Beach.

Uh Jim? He's not building on the ENTIRE beach. So you don't go to the restaurant, you don't go to the casino. Big deal. What do you want, a food court like at the mall?

Bring on the casinos. THINK of the JOBS and REVENUE they would create. TONS of Long Islanders spend money in CT and NJ giving THEM our revenue and jobs. WAKE UP LONG ISLAND.
