Natzis love eating horse meat.

the sale of horse meat is forbidden by law in California. it is eaten in some european countries, france being one. CA out-lawed it several years ago through voter initiative drive. fois gras is set to be banned in CA in the next year or so. unpasturized cheeses and meats are next as the neo-liberal state designs our life-style and gastronomic experience.

what can one say, except;
"What the hell is the matter with people???" How can these people sleep at night? |

The morons who owned these horses should be restrained in a dark tight space, knee deep in their own feces, without food or water then dragged out and publicly flogged. The county needs to pass an ordinance preventing anyone who abuses animals, from
ever owing animals again. Harsher punishments for animal abuse!!! |

What concerns me is the mention in the article these folks did the same thing 10 years ago. And now they are pleading ignorance.
Perhaps jail time will help with the learning curve for these people. I can understand someone getting over one’s head with a few horses, but there are agencies, government and non-government, that could have helped them out. They could have asked for help. As to having 39 horses…. A dog food farm, perhaps? Oh, and “unanonymous”: If it’s liberal to care for the proper treatment of animals, then yes, I am proud to be a liberal. |

How can you remove a horses hooves the horse would not be able to stand up or walk to get food or water
|

so do those crazy hillbilly tweekers! |

I agree with The True Anonymous (post #6) in that it is so disturbing that these same people apparantly had the same (or similar) problem 10 years ago. Now they act as if they didn't realize there was a problem?
This sounds like a completely sick situation. Makes me think there is some mental illness of the human kind. |

They claimed ignorance 10 years ago too I bet. Then they left 7 horses there to suffer under the ignoramuses. What made them think they'd be more enlightened with the seven, and instantly? I wonder if there were periodic checks on these people, or if they just assumed that their "ignorance" was instantaneously cured because of their visit? If this was involving children, there would have been ongoing and intense intervention. Ignorance wouldn't have cut it as an excuse. Would they have taken most of their children and left a few? There has to be a law enacted where if you are cited for animal nelect or abuse, you are restricted from ever owning another animal again. Ownership of animals is not a neccesity, so why mess around with these people? There's a 99.9 % chance that it will happen again. Just take away their right to ever have the opportunity to inflict more torture. Like I said animal ownership is not a neccesity of life, so why mess around with these people at the expense of some poor defenseless creature?

You can't take off their hooves, but these horses obviously need their hooves trimmed. Depending on how long they have gone without, they may have to go through a series of trimmings before they will be considered normal again. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars, per horse, it will take in shots, wormings and skin care they will need. It's too bad that these people let it get out of control.
I too hope that the court does its job by at least limiting the number of horses these people can have and monitoring their activity from here on out. Maybe instead of jumping to conclusions, we should be asking ourselves as horse owners, could it have been us? We like to think not, but truth be told, how many of you have pastured horses who are just now shedding out those dreadlocks from under their bellies? Let the courts do the judging, we don't know the specific circumstances surrounding the lives of these people and their horses. |

I've been to that "farm" I couldn't sleep for days after seeing it. She needs to be punished. She knows what proper care is, and just chooses to breed and breed until there are so many that there is no way she and her feeble deaf old husband can possibly care for them. She needs to be banned from owning horses. You know what she called her place? Happy Horse Hill!!! Those horses will suffer forever from there beginning in neglect. The foals have herniated umbilicals from maternal malnutrition, they will develop navicular from poor nutrition and hoof care. The list of problems go on and on. Many people here have complained many times over the years. I'm glad they finally took them all. Now they need to make sure that she can't abuse even one more animal!

But Jeff! You are hating on one of your own! What going on? Sober up? Meanwhile: Too much of this goes on in Humboldt. Support the Animal shelters! They are VERY overworked around here. (and everywhere else too, but especially here!) |

Hello? Gundersen doesn't have anything to do with this thread. he deserves his own place in hell.

THEY DON'T LIVE MUCH BETTER. I ALSO HAVE BEEN THERE. THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THEM. THEY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM OWING ANY ANIMALS!!! ITS HORRIBLE LIVING FOR ANYTHING LIVING UP THERE.

Horsey Girl... Round those witnesses up, sign those petitions, and have a real say in the court system! You go girl!

Does anyone local have any pictures? If this has been going as long as it sounds like, is there anyone who might of taken pictures back then to show a pattern to the courts? The only way to ensure that this woman is stopped is to show pattern after pattern. Turn any evidence you may have over to the local D.A.

Did anyone else catch the part in the article that states they are going to have to remove the horses hooves.......I'm seriously hoping that's a typo.

Thanks Horsey Girl for giving us the name of their place. And, I want to know if sooooooooo many people reported the abuse, why the authorities did not remove the animals? The DA needs to charge them too. Very sad that someone did not raise holy hell long ago; take some pictures and get them to the newspapers, tv, KHUM and Miranda's Rescue. It sounds like so many people knew..........in cases like this someone needs to take the lead, always, and make a lot of noise. Never wait for authorities to do something. Never.
