Judge it!My family was raised with the Wilson family and we knew Collette and Marguarite very well. Of course, Dr. Wilson was our family dentist.
My mom was also VERY close friends with a family on the adjacent county road. The road Collette was abducted from.
Even though we hadn't discussed Collette in MANY YEARS... out of the blue, on her death bed in late 1995, my mother said to me "I know who killed Collette". She told me who, and it was one of the last things she ever spoke.
Months after she passed, and I could get myself together, I pondered whether her statement was one of final release of guilt (knowing all these years and not telling anyone), or if it was the morophine talking. I knew I would be labeled as a kook if I called Alvin Police, but I had to.
So I called in early 1996 and told the investigator everything. He said that indeed they had suspected this man my mother told me of, but had no evidence to charge.
So now, I firmly believe that this man's mother knew about it, and told my mom. That my mother carried this knowledge for the rest of her life...and why she didn't say anything isn't really too hard to understand, as this man was a very violent one. She was afraid for her and her family.
I sincerely hope my mother was hallucinating. But I don't think so. And if it IS true...now I know. And it will haunt me forever.

My family too grew up knowing the Wilson family quite well. Every couple of years I search the internet to see if there is anything new posted about Collette, which is how I stumbled onto this posting. She was older than me. I remember after she went missing and before she was found that my dad would stop any time he saw an abandoned vehicle on the side of the road and check it to see if she were in it. All the Wilson kids used to call my mom "aunt" due to the closeness they shared with her. That family has suffered so many traumatic losses. What new developments do you know in this case? I too am interested in the name your mom said. When I did my internship, I spoke with an investigator who had worked on the case years earlier who said they did have a suspect but never enough to put hi away. Well, there is one girl missing from Aransas Pass in 1989 named Blanca Roberson, and another girl that was found in Walker Couty Texas in 1980 who is an unidentified victim, who authorities felt at the time could have been from Aransas pass.
I find a very hard time believing in psychics, after all, I think, they could prevent so much tragedy if it were true, but maybe it isn't like that and you can only see what you can see when it was given to you. My suspect lived in Aransas Pass for a hop, his name wasn't Emerald though. |

729 & Friend we have a person of interest in some of the cases in the early seventies.
Galveston Police News wrote several articles about him. Is this the same person your refering too? |

Hey Sam,
I was only in elem school, about 3rd grade, when Collette Wilson was abducted and murdered. I only know what my parents told me: Collette had just finished band practice and her teacher had just dropped her off at a location where her mom was to pick her up. Her mom was less than 10 minutes late picking her up. During that 10 minues she was abducted. Her body was found on the banks of the Adducks Reservoir, only 35 yards from where another body was later found. I have researched online and found info stating where there was a suspect, Harry Lanham, who was tried and convicted on an unrelated murder but was shot and killed by police trying to escape. Although he was suspected in the murder, he never confessed and I haven't found anything to indicate that he definitely committed her murder. |

One other thing. Since she was shot in the head and raped, was there any DNA from the crime scene and if so why hasn't it been ran through the system again? I'm sure the bullets have been recovered from the different victims also. Have these been linked together or to anyone?

Suzzane I remember reading about the headless female body found in a Galveston Park. I'll ask my connection in Galveston to look into it.
Do you remember if they ever found the head? If memory serves me right the body appeared to be younger than Margaret but I can't remember the details.. Did Margaret have any tatoos, birth marks, scars anything that could help identify her? Matt Wingo is from the area and has worked on some of these cases. I'm sure he's a lot more familiar with them than me. Suzzane I have Margaret's poster here in front of me. It states she is 5'6" 125 lbs with bridge work. I'll look into it for you. rmb729 you may want to ask Matt Wingo about it. Kandy and Matt both post on this site. Kandy & Matt posted the article about Latham rmb729 and Matt Wingo is familiar with that case. I'm sure Matt & Kandy can shed some light on the subject. I had never heard about Latham until they posted the article. I'm not from the Houston area but flew over the area last month. I was real surprised to see how remote & isolated some of the areas were. |

Suzzane, I did quick search on headless body found Galveston April 1986.
According to Margaret's bulletin she was reported missing 10/20/1987. Margaret couldn't be the headless victim found in Galveston in April 1986. According to my source Margaret was dateing a doctor his last name starts with a V. My source also advised Margaret was also seeing a black guy who sold crack cocain. Who is Christopher Bernard Wilder? Is he the black guy Margaret was supposed to be seeing on the side? What makes you think he had nothing to do with it? Who cleared him (what agency)? For confirmation Suzzane can you tell me what town your parents live in? The reason why I ask is because I have people play games with me sometimes. I'm very sorry you and your family has had to go thru this. Txlonghorn it's my understanding the Rangers NO longer have the cold case unit. But I'm sure if local authorities ask for help they would. EVIDENCE--Matt knows more about the evidence than me but I bet they don't have any dna. Not sure about any bullets that may have been retrived from the victims. Texas City still has bullets from what I read on Brooke & Georgia. |

I can barely make heads or tails of this string of posts. I do understand that it involves the man who killed my Aunt. She was dearly loved by our family. Does anyone know exactly what happened to Henry Dole Shuflin?

By the way, Im just digging through all of the posts so far to this forum. Sam, I am not sure who you mean when you say Allison's younger brother. Allison was the baby of the family. Do you mean her step brother. I ask because the step brother was not a blood relative and was not living with the Craven family at the time of Allison's murder.

Nieceo, I don't remember stating anything about Allison having a younger brother. I have NO ideal how many brothers or sisters Allison had.
suzanne sorry I've been assessing to many homicide cases and forgot who Wilder was. He's the serial killer in Florida your sister knew. Sorry you have had no luck maybe some local people who post on here can help you. Matt Wingo can you help Suzanne on this headless body found in Galveston? I don't think it's her lovely sister who has been missing for many years from Florida. |
