I am also a cousin of Shannon. I have asked the OPD Chief and investigator several times and the always say the same thing "WE ARE CLOSE" but they wont say close to what. I think they dropped the ball big time due to lack of experience, training and resources.

The last thing we heard before Christmas was they had a suspect but they needed a little more evidence before they could make an arrest. Something was mentioned too about this person may have murdered 4 people. Are you freakin' kidding me???? Not enough evidence?? I'm certain the Blounty County and/or Oneonta PD dropped the ball and didn't have a clue what they were doing. The thing is, they should have called in the State ABI to help with this case. I have seriously been thinking about calling the State Attorney General's office to see if I couldn't lite a fire under somebody. This is getting ridiculous. The statistics are if the murder isn't solved within the first 48 hours the chances of it ever being solved go down about 50% for each month that passes. I should give ole Nancy Grace or 48 hours murder mystery a call. Little towns hate to get embarassed on national TV :D
