I live just south of the line at Hudson Lake. Where does the name Galien come from and does it have anything to do with Galena Creek? I study local history and am wondering where some of the names came from. If there are any Civil War researchers out there, there is a Michael Unruh that has a stone at Hamilton Cemetery in St. Joseph Co., from Galien that died during the Great War. Thank you for any info.
