Patiently awaiting ballots in the mail so we can tell arrogant SWCS Board of Education NO ........... AGAIN ...... When it does fail they all need to resign and get a school board in place that can budget and that will allow pay to play.

Are there really $100,000 homes in Grove-tucky? Either they are some very exspensive double-wides or the appraisers are blind and just guessing. Oh well, off to The Club. Good luck with your little vote thing.

Do the right thing and VOTE NO on Columbus' new tax. Way too much fat yet to be trimmed. I don't want another dime of my hard-earned money to be funneled into the wallets of Mike Coleman's corrupt buddies.

VOTE NO ON ISSUE ONE!!!

I can't vote on the Columbus Taxes but I can tell you as a business owner I will move my office if the tax passes. Columbus is already an awful place for a small business with regards to dealing with their rude crappy tax office. Giving them more of my money isn't in my future.

We the people have had to cut back so should the government. 2% is enough, if wages were increasing then 2% would be more $$, when wages go down then 2% is less. Live with it just like your citizens have to. If you don't have the money don't spend it PERIOD.

think it is bad now with waiting for police / fire to respond to your needs or those of people you know - if the levy does not pass - your waiting time has doubled if not tripled.$50 more a YEAR for each $10k you earn is very justified if you are waiting for help. if you make $40k a year, your cost is $200 more - that is two months of cutting fast food out of your lunches. which is more important - fast food or someone there to help you if not save your life??

I am 48 years old and have NEVER in my life needed a cop to come and save my life. Stop the fearmongering. This will force the city to trim the real fat, and there is lots of it. Let the residents pay their own trash pickup. VOTE NO!!!

Here we go again with the worst case scenarios........ The facts are we are being spent into debt and the taxpayers are to support the same old business as usual. The pork, and greed has to stop. Remember the old saying "Use well, before shaking"! Anyone voting for more taxes to perpetuate this system ought to have their head examined.. at their own expense of corse!

And when the levy fails again, we're taking our child out of private school and moving the doublewide into UA. We already have the plan in place. Maybe we'll be neighbors; cooking out and stuff.

How in the world am I supposed to afford my cable bill and Natty Lite when all I do is pay these stupid taxes. It goes against God, the United States of America, and Ohio State football.

I look forward to it. I am anxious to see how many times your child touches the electric fence before it understands... well you know! Or do you?

The folks of UA have to have electric fences? Maybe I'll rethink my relocation. Bet they don't have those in Bexley. And...you forgot already that she's been taught in a private school (CSG)- she's not a product of SWCS by design.

VOTE NO It is gov. blackmail to say they will cut police and fireman when they can sell all the extra shovels they don't need just so they can have someone to hold them up . they won't need the extra trucks or extra gas. They don't know how to spend what they get now and what makes think that will change.

Go to a website called www.swatlevy.com and read such things as the Sgt. Major of the Grove City HS ROTC being told not to participate in activities this summer when in fact the school district does not pay for the ROTC. It is the Navy who does.

Federal Tax = 28%
State Tax = 6%
City Tax = 2%
FICA/SE Tax = 15.3%

Total Marginal Tax Burden = 51.3%, not including sales tax, gasoline tax, property tax, license plate fees, etc.

Can someone explain to me why more government cuts and more tax cuts are such a bad thing?

Question 1: IF YOU KNEW FOR A FACT that if the Issue 1 tax increase was to fail and police and fire services would be cut would you voter yes or no?
Question 2: If the tax increase was just for police and fire would you vote yes or no?

Why on this earth would we vote FOR an increase in City of Columbus taxes? So they can "keep hammerin' them", to quote a CPD officer, with $200.00 TRAFFIC TICKETS??! Get off the flipping freeways and put your so-called limited resources to use in the NEIGHBORHOODS fighting violent crime of all sorts! Leave the traffic enforcement to the Highway Patrol (oops, they are all too busy working city streets, whining, and working Marijuana Eradication on private property). Oh, wait, that is not what you CHOOSE to do, so we will just "keep hammerin'" your silly city police department priorities -- hopefully with a NO vote on raising our taxes!

Nose a little up in the air, huh??? Grove City is a really nice community with some very expensive homes in new developments and some really down to earth families. You need an attitude adjustment. Worthington, New Albany and Upper Arlington are not the only communities in the Columbus area. And, I am saying this to you only because of the attitude of your response here. There are many individuals in evidently your "chosen" communities that are great families.

What you say is true. We all need to have good fire/police services. But, in reality, I think you are forgetting that there has been a huge downturn in jobs in the Columbus area. We're not always talking fast food, it's more about paying bills now. I'm speaking from knowledge. My son-in-law lost his IT position due to two downsizings at his office in February. He survived the first one last November but was caught in February in the second one. They are now living with us. There is also one of the gals in the law firm where I work whose daughter, son-in-law and 3 children are moving in with her due to her son-in-law's lack of work in the state of Florida. He is in the construction area. They are moving back to Columbus to try and find something here. I'm sure this is not just two examples but two of many that are out there. Please remember this before speaking too quickly. We are all lucky and blessed if we have a good, steady job right now.

Daily Horoscope for December 12

Aquarius

Ring a friend for a quick chat and you could still be on the phone an hour later, while this person yaks away non-stop with no signs of coming to a halt. It will be the same story if you see someone face to face, because they'll be garrulous in the extreme. Mind you, the same could be said of you, even though you may not be aware that you're hogging the conversational limelight.
