Ceremony held to hand over Air Force station

The military held a ceremony to hand over the Air Force station at Galena. The station was formed in 1943 to assist Russia's fight against Germany.

Happy to learn that that "Godforsaken Base"on the "Edge of Nowhere" was converted in to a truly productive Educational Center. Spent my 22nd year of Life on that base,(l968). Often wondered whatever happened to it. Learned a few years ago about NOKIA use of the old NCO Club. Have a NOKIA phone now. Also learned of the 71 flood. Would like to see current pictures of base and "New Town". MrDoogie2101@Yahoo.com
