the White house is attacking FoxNews Channel. See the stats below, and then tell me...who is fair and balanced?

"What I think is fair to say about Fox -- and certainly it's the way we view it -- is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party," said Anita Dunn, White House communications director, on CNN. "They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that's fine. But let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."

"Obama's only been a boon to their ratings and I don't understand how this kind of escalation of rhetoric and kind of taking them on, one on one, would do anything other than escalate their ratings even more," she said.

Dunn used an appearance on CNN's "Reliable Sources" over the weekend to complain about Fox News' coverage of the Obama presidential campaign a year ago.

"It was a time this country was in two wars," she recalled. "We'd had a financial collapse probably more significant than any financial collapse since the Great Depression. If you were a Fox News viewer in the fall election, what you would have seen would have been that the biggest stories and biggest threats facing America were a guy named Bill Ayers and something called ACORN."

Ayers was co-founder of the Weather Underground, a communist terrorist group that bombed the Pentagon and other buildings in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1995, Ayers hosted Obama at his home for a political function and the two men later served together on the board of an anti-poverty group known as the Woods Fund.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which once had close ties to Obama, has been accused by a variety of law enforcement agencies of voter fraud. In recent weeks, the Democrat-controlled Congress moved to sever funding to ACORN after Fox News aired undercover videotapes of ACORN employees giving advice on how to break the law to a pair of journalists disguised as a pimp and prostitute.

As for Dunn's complaint about Fox News' coverage of the Obama campaign, a study by the Pew Research Center showed that 40 percent of Fox News stories on Obama in the last six weeks of the campaign were negative. Similarly, 40 percent of Fox News' stories on Obama's Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain, were negative.

On CNN, by contrast, there was a 22-point disparity in the percentage of negative stories on Obama (39 percent) and McCain (61 percent). The disparity was even greater at MSNBC, according to Pew, where just 14 percent of Obama stories were negative, compared to a whopping 73 percent of McCain stories -- a spread of 59 points.

So...if you go by those numbers, you can't say FoxNews is a republican / conservative wing station, but you can see that CNN, MSNBC are truly liberal wing channels.

Agree totally. There's a reason that FoxNews' ratings are throught he roof while CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS news and various newspapers are in the dump. People are finally realizing that these networks never tell the whole story.

This is because it's the only media channel that they haven't been able to put a leash on.

White House boasts: We 'control' news media
http://www.wnd.com/index.php...

President Obama's presidential campaign focused on "making" the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled," White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference.

At least the networks are sticking together. I heard today that the White house offered the networks the chance to interview the Pay zcar IF fox was excluded. The networks say no thanks and would only take him if fox was included.
The White house apparently backed down.

Hopefully this is a sign the networks won't be bullied by the white house.

Looks like Obama is enjoying the high life. First the expensive trip to NYC for a dinner/show, then the trip to Denmark. Turns out he's also hanging out on the golf course quite a bit.

President Barack Obama has only been in office for just over nine months, but he's already hit the links as much as President Bush did in almost 3 years.

CBS' Mark Knoller — an unofficial documentarian and statistician of all things White House-related — wrote on his Twitter feed that, "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24.

Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months."

This news comes on the heels of today's news that Obama played golf with a woman — chief domestic policy adviser Melody Barnes — for the first time since taking office.

and Bush took more vacation days away from the WHitehouse than any other President.
There is just no way that one can think of Fox News as being Fair and Balanced - when they have talking heads like Hannity (Lib-E-Ral segment) and Beck, there is just no way that you can say fair and balanced. There are times that these two are just right on, but then they go over the cliff of sensibility.
The misnomer is that the name of the network includes the word news.

Jimbo, show me the proof to back up your claim that Bush took more vacations days. PROVE IT!

This is the problem with liberals, they says things that they can't prove. I suggest you read Glenn Beck's new book, Arguing with Idiots. Everything he says in the book is properly cited - something liberal writers never do.

Because the main stream media is so far to the left, anything in the middle would be considered to the right.

Sorry Randalstown, MD -

Here you go - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/... - and what makes you think I am a liberal - that is the problem with whatever you consider yourself, you jump to too many conclusions without any facts.

It is easy to throw tomatoes at anyone - coming up with a solution is the issue. Something that is sorely lacking in many of our elected officials

Jimbo, you get your facts from a Washington Post Blog? Are you kidding? You think this is a legitimate source for credible information? The Wash Post, NY Times are other left wing newspapers are infiltrated by socialist liberals. I'd never use any of them as a credible source of unbiased information.

Jimbo, you drink the kool-aide by the bucket...

The Democrat Governor and Mayor of New Orleans let people die because they were to stupid to put them in the empty buses that sat in the city and ended up underwater. Don't try and blame Bush for their incompetence.

dup,

we are talking about Bush - Bush was cutting a birthday cake on the runway with McCain as New Orleans was drowning.

He was on his ranch, kissing the Prince of Saudi Arabia during the month of August.

He went to bed at 8pm. Face it, the guy checked out of the Presidency, and wanted no responsibility. He was not in Washington where the action happens. If you truly do not believe that Bush was away at his ranch more often then not, then you need to re-read the history books.

News you won't read on your Obama network news channels/newspapers

Nearly $6 million in stimulus money was paid to two firms run by Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton’s pollster in 2008.

Federal records show that $5.97 million from the $787 billion stimulus helped preserve three jobs at Burson-Marsteller, the global public-relations and communications firm headed by Penn.
