Did you know that as woman in your area is training for the 3 day, 60 mile walk in Tampa Bay October 30th? Her name is Eileen Erway and she can be seen every Saturday walking Route 54A from Bluff Point to Penn Yan and beyond. She has reached the 13 mile point as of last weekend and is working very hard EVERY day to make her goal. BUT-she needs our help. Eileen needs to raise $2300 in order to walk. If you would like to help Eileen achieve her donations goal, please go to the3day.org , click on donate, look for Participants in the drop box and then enter Eileen's name. I will continue to update this forum weekly so you can follow Eileen's progress. You can also see her progress on facebook-add me as a friend for updates. Thank you and God Bless. And remember, Everyone Deserves A Lifetime.

So, I realized when I posted a second post with another title, that you may have thought I had forgotten this one. Nope!!! Just had a moment. Well, to update those of you who may be reading this, Eileen has been training like craszy for this 60 mile (20 miles/day) walk. She and my other sister Sheila(who lives near Tampa Bay), and I know of 1 more friend (or maybe 2) have been faithfully training to complete this Breast Cancer walk. Eileen has taken to the back roads because asphalt is gentler on the feet than concrete. She walks down Esperanza from Bluff Point and heads all through those back hills. This past Saturday Eileen and Sheila (visiting for the weekend) walked 15 miles and on Sunday they walked 11 miles. I was blown away when I traversed those hills (in my car) to pick them up at the end of their trek on Saturday. Monday is supposed to be a day of rest but Eileen still walked a short 3 mile stint with me (my max since my foot surgery).
Well, I hope someone is reading this and may be considering donating to the cause so Eileen can participate in the walk. To get to Eileen's personal web page on the 3day.org site, go to
http://www.the3day.org/site/TR/Walk/TampaBayE... .
God bless you and thank you for your support.

Some words from Eileen...

Hi Everyone!

First I want to thank those of you who have already sent in donations to the Susan G Komen 3-day walk. You are awesome! With 5 weeks until the ‘big walk’ I’m at 41% of my $2300.00 goal. All my training wouldn't benefit anyone but me without your support. Thank you so much for your contributions!

If you haven’t donated yet but would like to here’s how:
To make a donation, click on this linkhttp://www.the3day.org/sit e/TR/Walk/TampaBayE...
to go to my personal fundraising page. If you don't want to donate online, please fill out the attached donation form and mail it to the address on the form.

Every little bit will helps, so please consider making a donation.

It's amazing to me that there are only 5 weeks left. Seems like it was only yesterday that I had all the time in the world before the end of October. I have been training hard all summer. I try to split my walking between the back roads and 54A – the main road near our house. Back roads are easier on my feet since I don’t need to worry about staying on the shoulder all the time and can use the flatter middle of the road. The main road though has places to stop to get water, rest, use facilities, etc. I couldn't have done it without my husband, Skip’s help. He brings me water, picks me up, encourages me and hasn't complained once about forgoing our usual summer activities.

To date I have walked an amazing 496.5 miles! I never would have believed that I was capable of that. I’ve also lost 25 lbs. and several sizes! It's been an amazing challenge but I’ll be ready to walk the 60 miles.

You may remember that I am walking in Tampa as part of the team ‘Little Feet, Big Feat’ with my sisters Sheila (who lives in Tampa) and Molly and Sheila’s daughter Alicia. Unfortunately, Molly had to undergo foot surgery and will not be able to participate. She has, however, been our #1 cheerleader and has helped me in raising funds. Alicia will also be unable to walk in the 3 day having been in a car accident in May. Both Molly and Alicia have recovered but have been unable to train. Sheila and I are joined by a friend of Sheila’s though, Linda, so we will have 3 walkers on our team.

I am really looking forward to the 3-day walk and the conclusion of this journey. Thank you again for all your support and help!
Eileen

Thanks to all the people who donated to my sister's quest to raise $2300 for the 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk for the Cure. We have exceeded the required amount and Eileen is thrilled that all her hard work will pay off. She is looking forward to the trip to Tampa at the end of this month. She will walk 20 miles a day for 3 days...crazy, huh? God bless Eileen, my other sister Sheila, and all the people who are donating money, time, and their poor feet to this cause.

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Gemini

Spend the morning recharging your spiritual batteries and prepare for the coming Full Moon in your sign. Listen to your favourite music, surround yourself with your things and let confrontations and business dealings wait until you are ready. The Moon enters Gemini later today, so things will take on a much rosier hue.
