News Blog - If I Didn't See It With My Own Eyes...

She is very sweet. Almost kind of shy. And she's nervous. She's never been on television before and she didn't expect to be anytime soon.

I love coupons! Way to go Crissy! It's good to know there are others out there using coupons, saving money and trying to make the most of these crazy grocery prices.

I loved the information but have never been able to make a go of it with coupons. My family does not eat most of the items the coupons are for. Due to either allergies, food dislikes, etc., they just really dont eat the foods or items shown in the coupons.
typically what is eaten is the meat [not sandwich meats], some frozen veggies, produce. Your basic whole foods type diet. some soups but not a huge amount because of the fat amounts in them.
I tried checking out the coupons again this week and went to Kroger & Publix. I took advantage of the BOGO items for what they would eat, some of the 10 for $10 items [typically not something that also has a coupon associated] and a few coupons.
Afterwards, I had $40 worth of savings but only 3.50 was from coupons, the rest being the store advertised pricing.
what do you do in this case?

I shop for produce & meats at a local chain, they buy everything from local farmers. The prices cant be touched by anyone, and I know its fresh. I would suggest looking for a local farmers market ( would be cheaper than say Harry's or whole foods) and make sure to sign up for coupons. www.mambosprouts.com is a great place to get coupons for organics. Also, check into local fruit stands, and even a small chain or mom & pop store. Also, Ingles frequently marks down thier meats significantly.
