Why does the Jackson County Sheriffs’ Dept have 10 Lieutenants? Out of 18 law enforcement personnel 10 are now Lieutenants. Does anyone have any information on this?

Is this even true? Normal would be 2 or 3, one for traffic, one for investigation, and one for drug enforcement especially here.

makes sense to even screw up the number of lieutenents. fact that the chief deputy is seeing a former female deputy, has a thing for these dark haired beauties. time for new management

I heard this and I also heard last month the Sheriffs' Dept turned in $40,000.00 in overtime. We would appreciate any information on this.

Well if you are concerned about overtime the next time a store is being robbed and its time to clock out I guess they should just walk off and go clock out, or the next baby that gets shaken they should be more concerned with there time on the clock. Use commom sence people!

you ppl are mad if they dont work, then you're mad if they do. they cant win for losing. do you think that when they are heading home and see a drunk driving, they should just go on and not pull them over.... then that drunk driver hits your family member, and you're mad because they didnt pull them over to begin with.

or they DO pull them over... and you're mad because its "over time" do you think that being an officer runs of a strict time clock? its impossible.

If it is indeed true then 40 thousand in overtime does not make sense. These are mine and your tax dollars. And I am using common sense. It does not take 10 Lieutenants to run that department. It sounds to me like the Sheriffs' Dept is taking the county to the cleaners. Excessive overtime, 10 Lieutenants, with I am assuming Lieutenants pay. I am not trying to make anyone mad I would just like an explanation.

They barely have 10 patrol deputies, much less 10 Lieutenants! Can anyone name all the Lts, Sgts, or patrols or even the Detectives? Im sure you all havent the slightest idea!

Mabey you should go request to be a ride along for a few weeks and then mabey you would understand a little better. Im not trying to be ugly but Id rather pay out overtime and know that the county is being protected as to staff less officers. people abuse the privlage of county officers and call them out on on silly things like "my neighbors dog is chasing my chickens or the kids are riding 4 wheelers again". Please just consider what your saying before you open a can worms.
