Home is such a sweet name, especially when you learn what it really means. It is not a house, but a community where your foundation is laid for the rest of your life. It is a palce where a family nurtures you and loves you like you will never experience again. It is a place of a carefree youth, with laughter and sunshine. Hokes Bluff is my "home". I cherish the memories of growing up there. I remember swimming at the ferry, riding down to circle c for a coke, and going with my Mamaw to Warehouse Groceries. Life led me away from there 18 years ago. I get to come home occasionally, and when I do, I see it all as I did when I was a child. The smell of my Grandmothers house, fresh cut hay, and the river breeze. I feel I am a better person for having grown up in such a beatiful, warm community. I hope as I meet people, they get to see a little part of Hokes Bluff and that I represent "home" well.
