I completely agree with you! Finally someone that realizes that "THE PRESIDENT" does not work alone. If it weren't for our service men protecting our country where would these college students be today. Perhaps they need to go and protect and serve our country. You may not always agree with what is being done - but it is to protect us. Always remember it could be worse. You could live in another country. And the draft could come back. I am ashamed of these kids.

I feel sorry for all the students graduating that day. Bush won't talk positivily about their future in this world and how successful they can make America. There will be nothing inspirational about his speech. He will only push his agenda and continue to lie about how successful the war in Iraq is going.
That's exactly what I would want at my graduation, someone talking about how war is a good thing (sarcasm). I know this from experience, since he did nothing but push his war at my graduation from USC. |

1 The new GI Bill being debated in Congress would expand education benefits for veterans who served at least three years in the military after the September 11, 2001, attacks. The bill’s main sponsor, Sen. Jim Webb, is a Virginia Democrat and, like McCain, a Vietnam War veteran. The Senate passed Webb’s bill 75-22 last week. McCain was not in Washington for the vote. Barack Obama used the same framing this weekend; “I revere our soldiers and want to make sure they are being treated with honor and respect,” Obama said Saturday.“I think the GI Bill is one way for us to do that, and I hope that John McCain and George Bush decide they believe the same thing.” This is cheap election year politics designed to undermine the war effort under the guise of supporting the troops - it’s a way to force the Republicans to enact a Stop-Loss program to prevent hemorrhaging combat-experienced junior NCOs and make them even less popular. The New York Times, the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, tried to lie about the Administration this weekend, but the Administration shot back (Washington Times link); “This editorial could not be farther from the truth about the President’s record of leadership on this issue,” the White House said, adding that Mr. Bush asked Congress to address allowing service members to transfer their GI Bill benefits to their spouses and children, and to expand service members’ access to child care, among other benefits. “The President specifically supports the GI Bill legislation expansion proposed by Senators [Lindsey] Graham,[Richard M.] Burr, and [John] McCain because it allows for the transferability of education benefits and calibrates an increase in education benefits to time in the service,” the White House said.“Though readers of the New York Times editorial page wouldn’t know it, President Bush looks forward to signing a GI bill that supports our troops and their families.” The New York Times did not respond to a request for a response to the White House’s criticism. Of course they didn’t respond - they have nothing to say. The New York Times hopes the controversy disappears. The troops know that when Democrats do something for them, there’s a political angle, a political benefit for the Democrats. Democrats don’t do things solely for the troops anymore. |

The Furman students have the right to hold a vigil. That being said, they attend a college with a price tag of approximately 30K PER YEAR, so most of them have rich mommys and daddys. Get out in the real world, kids, earn a living (not in daddys family business) but in the real world and see what you think 10 years from now.

Also having said that, I too am sorry about EVERY American life that has been lost in this war, but if you little college grads think that Obama is going to pull out, think again. The congress isn't that naive and neither should you be.

They can't pull out. It would cause a WW3 that month! It's scary!

They also read that Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11, and that Bush has gotten 4000 troops killed in Iraq for no good reason, along with over 100,000 Iraqi civilians. God you people are so stupid. |

Something I wish all Furman protesters would read.
One evening during Spring Break a father and his daughter, home from college, are talking politics. "Oh, he is so old school." the daughter thinks to herself as she tries to explain why the Democratic party is right. She goes on and on about social programs and the need for higher taxes. Her father sits and listens patiently to his college age daughter. When she finally slows down her father looks at her and asks. "Honey how is your roommate, Sarah, doing in school?". "Oh, horrible daddy. She parties all night and is always on her phone texting during classes. She will most likely flunk out over the summer" she explains. "Such a shame for Sarah" the father says "you know maybe you should call the dean and ask him to transfer a grade point average or two from your GPA to Sarah's. That way you would both be C students and can continue next year". "Why would I do that daddy?" The daughter asked. "I've worked so hard for my straight A's and I've earned them. Sarah hasn't taken anything serious and so she is flunking out. Sharing my points wouldn't be right" She exclaimed. "Welcome to the Republican Party" the father said. |

The Republican party in what galaxy? The party of Bush is the one that bails out all failing businesses, no matter how poorly managed, and believes in a free lunch for all, passing all the bills onto the next generation. |

uhh.. yes, he did. "this war" has nothing to do with the terrorist attacks from 9/11. |
