Tribal politics is a disgrace besides Leonard Tsosie. There will be no change even if there are only 24 delegates. It will only lead to nasty campaigns and a lot of fighting.

One way to counter the latest ill-conceived action by the Navajo Council to remove the President from Office is for the Navajo people at the Chapter Levels to begin the recall of their Council Delegates. We all know that the motive to remove the President is an attempt to sabotage and kill the Referendum to Reduce the Navajo Council Members from 88 to 24, and the President's Line Item Veto. Both Referendums have placed the Council on Call that their questionable spending, lack of confidence, illegals spendings, misappropriations of people's funds and serious infraction of their fiduciary responsibility to the people. Evidently, the Navajo people have had enough of the present Navajo Council and their agenda.

Our tribal government is a disgrace. Mr. Yazzie accepts $50,000 for consulting..why didn't he give to students who need scholarships. Mr. Shirley on paid administrative leave..he will be on vacation while he gets paid..put him on non paid leave. We need to keep all the delegates they represent our tribe across the nation..it will not work with 24. Continue the investigation and see where the funds are going...I believe we have dishonest people running our government and only do it for the $$$$$ not the needs of our Dine people.

Shiprock's town image was badly damaged when the Fairchild Corp, once the biggest employer in NM, was taken over and shut-down in the 70's. Now we have BCDS taking another bad hit on the town. For some reason, Chili Yazzie appears to have been involved in both instances. He went from one building onto the next building down a block away. If there are any good buildings standing, don't let him in.

Our Navajo Nation Government has been taken over by a vindictive band of pirates. These council members do not understand the long-term effects of their decision.
Now every contractor and businessman, who have already been hurt by the economy, will turn the other way and not even consider an ailing nation. The Navajo Nation has become a "fourth world" Nation, which is government at the whim of a few. I know their is doubt that these in power will not rise to a leadership role and give us our due in financing the special election, but if they do, their fate will be in our hands. The voters need to DEMAND our say and have this election move forward. I am mad as H*E*L*L and I am no longer going to sit back and let this mean-spirited band of pirates take over Navajo government. What ever happened to the traditional customs of harmony and peace, or did those get put on leave with pay? |

"We have to clear our president" OK so, let's have White Collar Crime Unit, Office of the Prosecutor, working alongside FBI, IRS and Office of Inspector General charge the 48 CDs like Arthur and Teller after all WE Have to Clear OUR Delegates!! I'm just waiting for speakers office to get raided. When they start crying about not getting due process, tell them F--k you.

What's with the San Juan Basin Chapters voting to keep Shirley in? What do they have to gain from it? Is there something they are not letting us know about? It seems mighty fishy to see a voting block for Shirley.

Right, where is Ke',peace and harmony? The 48 council delegates need to put themselves on unpaid leave too, then I'll believe you are doing this for "some good". Now all you are doing is trying to sabotage the election process in which you will be definitely losing you jobs. With this action, I am definitely voting for reduction in the council. What is wrong with your thinking, did you put it on "paid" leave? Mr. Tsosie and Mr. Bates seems to be the only reasonable ones left. I hope that they are one of the 24 elected. Mr. Shirley deserves due process, no matter what you allege he did. "innocent until proven guilty" - this is America, right? The Council is definitely not qualified to be making decisions not even for themselves. Geesh!

From one building to another, don't let him in on the next good building. As I write, I am overwhelmed with laughter. Thank you. |
||||
|
I called the election office yesterday and offered to pay for the printing of the ballots. The election must continue. This is a smoke screen for the council to stifle the will of the people.

What goes around comes around. The Navajo Nation government has been on shaky ground of instability for a very long time and like a volcano is erupting again. Remember Peter MacDonald eruption? The instability is within the BIA-led government. Either do away with the Navajo Nation Code and start with a traditional Navajo approach to government, or create an honest to goodness identical westernized government system. The latter need a Constitution, party affiliations, statutory laws, and lower and upper house in legislative branch of government. Otherwise, get rid of the council members that are not transparent beginning with Lawrence Morgan. It is embarrassing and the Navajo Nation been negatively exposed again!

What is really going on with our Navajo government? Gentlemen, greed? Come on!!! Don't play with our government, if your greedy that much, go to a casino. Our Navajo people deserve more and better, they need a leader, a leader who well represent...AND LEAD! Were "The Great Navajo Nation", how about we act like it. I have nothing against our President, but hell we need one who will be FOR THE NAVAJO PEOPLE! Thats why there in office, FOR THE NAVAJO PEOPLE! I'm tired of hearing of our government going down the drain, while many Navajos, including myself are embrass of hearing of the troubles back home while were fighting here in Afghanistan. What I'm saying, coming from a Navajo Marine, "Get your sh*t together, like NOW!!!" Or does a Marine need to come in and show you how LEADERSHIP is intended?

Fairchild was already exiting its Shiprock company anyway and this information is extracted from micro-fish on this defuncted corporation; Shiprock had its shares of business failures: Shiprock Hotel, Nat'aanii Nez Motel, trading posts, helium plant, Navtech went defunct and tribe end up paying over $600,000, BCDS was about to land a huge military contract and NN slowed the process and the plant loss everything, and dead proposed casino and restaurant/hotel. So what's new for Shiprock except to say the people re-elected chapter officials from the past and they are already arguing among themselves.

The removal of Shirley from office should have been done way back, that first instance he tried to hire his wife and others, that should have been the moment the Navajo blindfold should have come off . .
|
||||
This voting block is aligned with Shirley obviously....just as Speaker Morgan has his fellow CD's aligned in his voting block....this the exact reason we need CD Reduction and Reform. It's to easy for the Speaker or whoever to get a bunch of small community CD's such as Sanostee,Teecnospos,Tsaile,Sho nto,Kaibito, communities with small populations to block leglislaton, laws, policies, proposals, which affect the larger communities i.e. Shiprock, Windown Rock, Ft Defiance, MV, Tuba, Chinle, towns with a combined pop. over 70,000. Its easy to get 15-20 small community CD's to be your buddies and vote on your behalf....The power of these small communities is HUGE! even though less than half the Navajo population lives in them. |

yadda yadda yadda.....and the old women keeps on knitting and knitting and knitting....

Glad i didn't vote for him.

Yes, I agree. Our political systems is a disgrace. Leonard Tsosie is trying to stall all legal movement against the President. As for the fighting, that's politics. It even happens in the Tribal Council, so what's the difference? We need to lower the delegates to 24 to function adequately. Yes, there are going to be problems on the onset but it will work. Everyone won't get their illegal cut of the pie. There will be more accountability. Right now there are too many sheep (tribal council or delegates)that it is difficult to watch them all. It will save the Nation money to put it where it suppose to go. Hopefully not into their pockets with the stupid discretionary fund. |
||||
|
Another reason to Vote for 24!!
Cd's are realizing that their so called delegate jobs are in jeopardy and are now doing any & everything to prevent the Navajo peple from voting them out of windowrock. Their lame attempt to do this so-called investigation is ridiculous! They should look in the mirror and do the investigations on who they see. |
||||
|
Why can't the NN bring all over-sea jobs to Navajo Land. Example; Nike Corp., GM Corp., Telephone operator., All the China toys., Wake up you hill billy Window Rock Croonies. Everybody is crying about Mr Yazzie consulting fee, which is a drop in the bucket, compared to how much NN spents to border town consulting firm. So go cry me a river and maybe we can have more rain.
