Do any of you know how to stay on a subject? HAve any of you children learned about Freedom of Speech? To those parents who's children are bashing Leslie Bell.... Do you ever watch what your children do on the internet? Just because someone has an openion on a subjct does not mean that we all have to agree with it. Some of you people are making the citizens of the Uriah community look absolutely horrible. I am almost ashamed to say that I live in a community with people like some of you.
Where did race come into this? Last time I checked books are not people of any color. I completely agree with the parent who mentioned that you can find the books on Amazon. If every parent would take 5, 10, 15 dollars to purchase a book and donate it to the school would that not help the issue? My step-daughter has gone to JUB her entire life on and off and I know that we as parents waste that much money on other things of less importance at JUB.

Those of you children who have been bad mouthing Leslie Bell really should have your computer priviledges taken away for talking like you have on here! SHAME ON YOU! She may be openionated but at least you can say this for Leslie BEll she unlike some of you will own what she has to say and not hide behind an assumed name! If she said she will be the first to say she did!

This advice will not fix the school's problem, but it will help yours. Go buy a book. They are about as expensive as a dinner for 4 at the Chinese buffet, and this will stay with you longer. If you are lucky you can sell the book back. The school may not care, but you do. Make the sacrifice.

This is in response to Nora Wasden’s comments about her daughter failing 11th grade math and how the school just doesn’t seem to care. Well, isn’t it true that your daughter has been failing math every year since the 7th grade, and instead of being held back, you insisted that she attend summer school. If she didn’t know how to do the math in the 7th thru 10th grades, she obviously is not going to comprehend it in the 11th grade. You need to realize that math is a “building” course – if you don’t learn the basics first, you’re going to have a hard time understanding the rest of it. Isn’t it also true that this is the first year your daughter has attended JU Blacksher school – hasn’t she previously attended Excel, Monroeville, and Monroeville Alternative schools, where she also had a problem with math? Well, obviously you can’t blame JU Blacksher and the shortage of school books for your daughter’s failing problem, now can you? You know, it seems to me that you should be the last person to bad mouth the school, considering the fact that the school has so graciously allowed your daughter to attend, given the fact that you don’t even live in the Uriah school district. Just because you use somebody else’s address, who does live in the school district, doesn’t make it legal for your daughter to attend that school. So, instead of blaming the school for your daughter’s problem, maybe you need to look at what you’re doing or “not doing” to help your daughter. Have you ever thought about getting someone to tutor her? A lot of schools offer free tutoring sessions for students who are having problems. You know, the school system can only do so much – the rest is up to the parents and the child. If the parent doesn’t take an initiative to care about their children’s education, do you think the child will? It’s always easier to blame somebody else for our problems, instead of ourselves. I hope that nobody will hold a bad opinion of JU Blacksher, based on the comments of someone who is obviously uninformed and is doing nothing more than trying to cause trouble. Just curious – how many PTO meetings have you ever attended?

True the teachers will help that is the ones you can get to sit down with you and help! Not all students learn from hands on some learn from reading chapters so don't think all students should be passing with out books and this fussing about Frisco tuff shit i am sorry but the ones fussing more then likely have a different address so their kid could go to Uriah instead of Frisco. As far as the books you cant do a bake sale cause they will not use the money just for Uriah so why don't ya'll buy books for the students and sale among one another as your children advance in school
