You have got to be kidding me. I grew up here and this is a literal police state. Illegal stops and 4th Amendment abusers, all of them. Didn't used to be like this but it's just a quick primer before you begin seeing TSA agents at malls, schools, grocery stores, etc. I will give Friendswood Police one thing, they don't grope your genitals (yet).

But the same scumbags that are destroying our economy are going to come for the pensions of the police, and maybe they will wake up then to the fact that they don't run anything and that their bosses run the drugs into the country so they can chase around the users and feed the prison industrial complex. They don't realize it yet, but they are on our side.
Here since 1985

I don't dispute anything you have said. The city's treatment of its citizens has been deplorable, and is the result of the two prior very bad city managers, mayor/councils, school boards/superintendents, appraisal boards, and drainage districts trying to get control of everyone to protect their kingdom (source of income). And if they couldn't intimidate you into going along, they would harrass and retaliate. Anyone who could get in some podunk public position could finally feel important.

The current city manager is a big improvement, and we have had a few good council members. As for the others, get out and vote, hire an attorney and fight back against abuse of public authority, don't be a fool manipulated by flattery, and just do business with other people.

Hey here since 1985 good to hear from you. The venerable police department now wants the taxpayers to foot the bill for a SWAT team I am hearing. Are they serious? We understand the police chief, as a former Marine, is trying to turn Friendswood into Kandahar, Afghanistan, but the fact of the matter is that he is running a glorified DWI task force for an upper middle class white community. It's tough to criminalize that type of citizen but he is giving it his best shot. And oh by the way, the High School is overrun with heroin, courtesy of our military gurading the opium fields of the aforesaid Afghanistan for the past decade. And about that cross-dressing man that robbed the Wells Fargo in Friendswood without being apprehended by our precious police....oh nevermind, I digress, they were probably tied up with 4 patrol cars arresting an 18 year old single female with a couple of Xanax in her pocket. What a f*%&ing joke they are. But until people start weaning themselves off of the fluoride, aspartame and mainstream media, it will be business as usual in this police state cesspool of corruption. A microcosm of our society in general I am sad to say.
The answer to 1984, this moronic police department and our government in general is 1776.

Daily Horoscope for May 19

Scorpio

There are days when you feel you can't say or do anything right, but happily this isn't one of them. In fact, it's a wonderful day in which everything goes well and it's remarkably easy to get on well with whoever happens to be around. Not that you want to spend your time with just any old person. You'd much rather get together with some close friends or that special someone in your life.
