Give them a hug when you see them and your anger will subside. You won't die early of a heart attack. Your life will have some good quality and we'll see you in heaven. You most likely do not have a high tech job anyway(can tell by your writing skills).

Huh? Last I checked our population growth was slowing in the US. Your children and our children will be best served by productive immigrants such as this man and his children coming to US. Healthy economies encourage qualified immigrants to join to help in their success.

A great loss to the community, I am greatly saddened by this.

I have seen cars speed through red lights even when people are half way across the street in the downtown. Cross-light, stop sign, or crosswalk, it doesn't seem to matter when some idiot is in a hurry. Watch out!

I walk in that area all the time and twice in the last few months I had to either step back or be extra careful while I was already crossing when I took the time to look carefully and "signaling" I was crossing, I usually pay very well attention to the pace of cars, if they are really driving fast I wait etc...I also try to be fair, for instance if there's just one car I wait and cross after it, etc...
Well, so recently, twice I had these cars not wanting to stop even though I made eye contact and I was already crossing, I do not own a cellphone but the first time a bus was right there, a few feet away and the driver honked me when the car drove off not wanting to stop to let me cross and a few minutes later I heard Police sirens.
The 2nd time, same situation and a car honked me, same, a few mns later I heard Police sirens and actually saw the Police car chasing that very car that almost killed me.
What do you think people, that you will get away with it??? You can kill someone
Also, I always look at plates and can memorize a plate # easily so I can report it if I have to, so, I wish we wouldn't have to go that far but in some cases it's needed...
Thanks to the community who helped me, but mostly who helped other pedestrians by catching a speeding driver get a warning and not kill anyone else on his way to who knows where...

I knew HarishBhai and his wife well. He was such a sweet man and always made my daughter laugh. I am shocked and deeply saddened by this.

What makes this tragedy magnified is the lack of sensitivity to human suffering. Both by the driver of the truck and some of the people who have posted. Your lack of compassion is the reason tragedies like this occur. We have become numb. And we forget that this brown Indian (as people have so accurately assessed) was a man with a family and a life. Does that really take a lower precedence to your ignorance and hatred?

And as the article said he was a citizen and a very proud one. But does that matter? A fine fine human is dead.
