FREEPORT: 16 arrested in Freeport High School melee

Sixteen people - including four juveniles - were arrested yesterday for fighting during a melee after Freeport High School's dismissal yesterday, Village of Freeport police said.

I agree. Had to really search for this story after news 12 reported it. Seems like there is an increase in violence in Freeport - stabbings, gang attacks etc.. You can spend millions to make streets look good but it can't change the criminal element. Decent folk there must be in agony.

But don't forget this sort of thing happens all across the world. These kids did something that is stupid, but you quickly pass judgement on an entire community. Glad to see we as a people no longer judge a book by it's cover.

No just us low lives that everyone expects us to be. Well u know what thanks for being like everyone else in the world. Just because our community is made up of mostly blacks and hispanics means nothing. Because a lot of them are intelligent but are always put down by others like you. It's people like you that need to get a reality check. You're comment disgusts me.

I don't know why it is like that but that's just how it is.

This story has no details & people are making things up. Freeport could do 10 million other good things but people want to point out the one bad thing. Race has nothing to do with anything. People are still people & they do stupid stuff. Thats just how life goes.
