The people running it do not own the building. Therefore, no matter what they try to do to improve the business, they are limited by the lack of effort in structural improvements. It's sad, as it's such a beautiful old building. I'd hate to see it fail completely.

Actually the new owners are responsible for the structural repairs, but refuse to put in the time or money to properly repair or renovate the building. They would rather blame the former owners whom they owe a LOT of money in back rent to, so if it is in fact the former owners responsibility they are couldn't afford to.

My family has frequented the White Inn for years, always on special occasions. We will never go back again. On 3 seperate occasions at least one member of our party have become ill. While sitting trying to enjoy a nice meal you can hear loud voices from the kitchen. The wait staff are rude. I have heard that the Fireside has recently been purchased. I think that will become or new family restaurant.

I certainly hope so. Since this summer you get better foodc at McDonalds and definetely better service. Food is burned or raw. Food is cold. Cream soups are curdled other soups have an inch of grease floating on top of them. Most of the time the kitchen staff can be seen sitting outside smoking or talking to people in cars.(drug deals)? Who knows. The place has gone so far down hill it isn't worth time money they still think they can charge. I read the article about the Chamber Mixer. Not a mention about the Inn or the food. That should clue everyone in to exactly what they can expect if they chose to dine there. Much better off going to White Horse or White Village. Or just wait until the Fireside reopens. That should drive the White Inn out of business for good and it really is a shame. It used to be a wonderful place to dine. The owner should re hire a new staff or that is exactly what is going to happen.

the owner should rehire a new staff. thats ironic since it was this summer that the current owner did rehire a newer staff and fired what he called in a previous post "the cancerous employees".

Robin has a lot of great ideas for reopening the Fireside. She worked as a buyer in the food industry for years and she's an amazing cook so the food will probably be really good. I wish her all the best with the Fireside.
