Capello elected mayor of Lebanon

Full story: Lebanon Daily News

The fact she was virtually assured of victory after winning both the Republican and Democratic nominations in May's primary election did not lessen the joy for Sherry Capello Tuesday when she won Lebanon's mayoral election.

what is lebanons deal with female mayors now? havent we learned from the mistakes of the last 2 women<ward eiceman>?...and why does it always seem that this county has married men and women running offices in the same county? i mean cmon our new mayor is married to a judge as well as a few other parties in this crooked county....it seems like the agendas of a few powerful families are just trying to seize as much control as they can.....is our new mayor gonna do anything about the gang violence and daytime shootings that have overrun this city? no their first agenda as always is money and how much they can get...oops i mean embezzle cause thats what this town is all about...cops can go to downtown bars off duty and drink and then drive but if a regular citizen did that wed be charged, thrown in jail, and have a 1500 dollar plus fine to pay <this county>....why does this city let this happen...oh i know why cause 65 to 70 percent of our town is now illegals who cant or dont bother to vote, and thats just how our system likes it....no questions asked and lets steal some more honest peoples lives and money...great job lebanon...i thought i smelled crap but it turns out i just got too close to the courthouse

It's official, now they can let Sherry start working on the problems. Yes there is a lot of personal use of city vehicles. Start picking it all apart, department by department, and rebuilding will weed out the deadbeats and non-essentials. Mayor Ward cutting 17 positions seems excessive, if they were not needed why did she allow them in the 2009 budget???

Conrats, Welfare Town!!!! You have a new Mayor, who will get a big pay boost, violate the rules of the VOTER accepted charter and tax property owners and working families to death.

Lets give her a chance. She had nothing to do with the current state of affairs in Lebanon. Ward and the current sitting City Council are 100% responsible for the sad state the City is in. Ward was the force behind Anspach for the past 10 years. In the last 4 years she and all the members who are now on council, not the newly elected ones, are the only people to blame for this. They should all be replaced. New Mayor and two new members of council is a start but I think the City is beyond the point of no return. There needs to be new blood everywhere. Get rid of the old and start new. New Fire Commissoner, New Police Chief and all others who are bosses. Lets see what happens but I am not optomistic.

Getting rid of the old and bringing in the new won't erase the damage done by the old. Especially when the new agree they see no other options. Here's a thought instead of raping the property owners in Lebanon City, why not consider a one-cent city sales tax on goods bought in the city, like is done in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. That way every one contributes(including those who get a free ride) But I'm positive the new bosses will be the same as the old and just rape those who are the easiest targets...Property owners and those who work. I can't wait until the new group decides to violate the City Charter and go to court to raise our personal city income tax, denying us a chance to vote on it, just like the school board has done and the city will do with property taxes before Ward leaves. Apparently following the rules means nothing to any of these people, if the charter doesn't work for them anymore, they look for a backdoor to sneak thru to violate it!
