What ever happen to Republicans philosophies of just cutting costs and protecting the taxpayers from increases ?

The citizens in Lebanon City will be left both unsafe by the City Councils' actions they will ultimately end up paying much higher taxes.

The Republican model of cutting costs and not raising tax has just be proven right in front of your eyes not to work in govenment and the taxpayers will pay for the Republicans mistakes, again!!!!

This is what Republicans do, cause people to go on welfare with job losses and tax increases. Mark my words a City Republican candidate will use welfare as a voting tool next election cycle. The same welfare rolls Republicans are helping to fill in the City.

Republicans are in control, so why aren't they using their own model and cutting City taxes even more.

That's how you stimulate a City, right ! Job losses and tax cuts, show me how this really works Repukes, cut taxes.

Do we as Lebanon County taxpayers really need to be paying for the offices, salaries and staffs of so many lawmakers.

Do we really need to support three people and their staffs ? Folmer, Gingrich and Swanger .

Would the citizens of Lebanon City feel safer with a police officer on the streets at 3:00 am or Senator Folmer in Harrisburg trying to pass legislation increasing payouts for small games of chance for night clubs.

Civics 101: Folmer; Gingrich and Swanger aren't paid from City R/E taxes.

1. All renters pay real estate taxes.
2. All unions living on the tax payers dime must be done away with. They are sucking the system dry using legel methods called contracts. Contracts should be made illegel on the tax payers dime.

Republicans??? I think everyone posting here ment RINOs. When Rs act like Ds welfare rolls do rise and taxes do increase. If our lawmakers stopped ingaging in constitutional treason and put government back into its proper role taxes would go DOWN WAY DOWN and investment in the city would commense. Of cousre without a nanny government we would have to engage in personal responsiblity so I guess we are doomed to serve lord Obama

Do away with low income housing, then you will have a tax base. Start enforcing laws in this city to bring in money, all the police have to do is sit in any alley on the northside and start arresting people who do not stop at stop signs. no one stops.Start seizeing the property of drug dealers in this town you could have a 800,000 surplus if you did that. Sieze the property of landlords that rent to drug dealers they dont care they rent to anyone with the money

Civic's 101, that's funny, stupid but still funny. Who exactly caused this $800,000 funding gap to the city ? The state budget.

State lawmakers like Folmer, Swanger and Gingrich caused this shortfall of money to the City when they passed the gutted State budget.

I vote to cut the job of one of these State lawmakers and their staffs and pass that State taxpayer money back down to the City like the State promised and keep police officers on the streets.

It doesn't suprise me that your more interested in ending the jobs of middleclass city employee's instead of one of the state lawmakers who was paid by taxpayers to protect "We the people" from ending up in this position.

2. Is this Senator Folmer ?

Well, isn't this just what a damn politician does well, raise taxes, cut jobs where they are needed and cutting a summer ground program so the money can go into the own pocket. There is no reason to cut those jobs, we need the police officers on duty and they just shoulding be cutting the necessary things are needed. This is all just plain BS. No money, they say, again BS, I don't believe this for one min. And the mayor must be a Republician, cause that's what Republicians do all the time, it's a proven fact, cause the fact is Republicians are for the rich people and Democrats are for the working people.

Why don't we just start cutting State lawmakers salaries and benefits and continue to subsidize to the Cities, boroughs and towns to keep police officers on the streets ?

I agree, let's have all the people who live in the Lebanon City and collect welfare contact their State lawmakers Folmer, Swanger and Gingrich and help fill the thousands of employment opportunities within the City of Lebanon.

This town needs an enema.

I also agree that of the cops started busting people for speeding, running stop signs and red lights, they'd have the money.

You could make a million dollars a week just busting people running the light at 12th and Cumberland.

but NOOOOOOOOOOO.

Where is the average homeowner supposed to come up with the money to pay these rising taxes. We are already having our electric go up 30 percent fuel has gone up 50 cents a gallon for no reason sewage going up 30 percent. This is not what our fonding fathers had in mind we are all taxed out Government needs to stop wasting money not cutting jobs there is a big difference.
