This is the best news I have heard in years! One more Liberal Clown retires to live on what he has ripped off of the El Paso taxpayers. Beware, he will be running for Reyes's Congressional seat, now that everyone is angry at Reyes's failure to hold town hall meetings. As bad as Reyes is, Shapleigh would be a total disaster.

Whether he runs for Reyes' Congressional seat or not, Shapleigh, the "Liberal Clown" has done an outstanding job representing El Paso. If you think it is a cushion job, try running for a political job, where you are constantly being criticized for defending your constituents’ rights. It is always easy to bad mouth someone, when you have not done it yourself or you are not capable of doing it.

Thank God!!!

El Paso has one of the highest poverty rates in the United States.
Matter of fact El Paso is #7 in the top 10 cities with the highest poverty levels.....and guess what all the top 10 cities have in common?

All run by Democrats.
Hmmmmmmmmm????

And they are for the poor huh?

What a freaking joke.
The joke is on the poor, they keep voting these idiots back into office thinking they are going to get something for nothing (welfare)and sell their own souls so they can stay home and watch soap operas and eat cheetos all day long.

The Democrats are for the poor allright.
To keep them enslaved and vote the Crats back into office.
End of story.

I would say, the way he hijacked the healthcare issue, he has plans for Reyes's job. The repetitious media exposure and moves to tidy up his personal life.

I think he had many chances to do more for El Paso but he didn't. Let's find someone better.

Wooohooo! Finally! This guy has been taking credit for everything from the medical school to the creation of man. The only reason our legislature forked over $250 mil for our medical school was b/c we finally got some local investment in the form of a $50 mil donation from Paul Foster. Shapliegh had absolutely nothing to do with that. In fact, we almost lost the bid b/c our legislature was tired of El Paso sticking their hand out. Good riddance! I hope this guy doesn't go for Reyes' seat or we're screwed.

Just out of curiosity, would someone post his successes in legislation and how they benefited this community as a whole? How have those successes changed the community as a whole? How did those successes benefit the state as a whole? Are we paying more taxes or less? Stuff like that!

He needs to be at a higher level office. Texas needs something other than GOP chokehold grip on Texans. Dealing with the combatative, and hostile GOP tactics it is no wonder Shapleigh's had to have tenacity.

He has had a well balanced time in office not just fighting for the under represented. If Texas can't settle for Perry (who's really not educated and too angry) then Shapleigh can surpass that.

Berry Perry, Bush tush, Lt. Dinglehurst, and the whole lot of losers have kept Texas in the gutter for too long. They like low wages, job losses, big money giveaways to their polluting contributors.

Hunt just gives' Berry Perry a fund raiser in thanks for getting government contracts. Texas low standards are a result of greedy self serving GOP.
High gas, property taxes, regressive taxes utilities, tuition, unemployement, pollution, budget shortfalls that Stimulus had to patch, junky arson Forensic Science based on ignorance......

Helped get funding for roads, helped get funding for Medical Center, helped get funding for UTEP, helped to regulate colonias....and so on.

Daily Horoscope for November 28

Sagittarius

You may want to do things on the spur of the moment, but pay attention to detail if you want to avoid unexpected expenses. Even a last-minute decision to go for a bike ride could end up with an injury or a flat tire, so try to think your actions out carefully. Once unpredictable Uranus settles down, you can enjoy a more relaxed attitude towards life. This evening you can let your hair down.
