P.S. And then Jon Bryant created a job for his buddy at Morrisville-Eaton. Emil Streeter is a criminal! We're talking premeditated ID theft BIG TIME. New bank account, Rolex watch purchase, expensive golf clubs.... They put the cuffs on Emil in school, talk about an "Aha" moment!

Here's the online info on Emil and his sweet deal...I wonder whatever happened to the golf clubs and the Rolex. Mr. Bryant was on the video of the golf club purchase, according to the State Police.
Emil H. Streeter, 45, of 2718 Welshbush Road, Frankfort, pleaded guilty before Judge Daniel C. Wilson Wednesday to third-degree identity theft, reduced from first-degree. Charges of second-degree forgery and second-degree impersonation were dismissed.
State police said in April 2009, Streeter used another manís stolen wallet, license and Social Security card to open a checking account at the Rome Savings Bank. The victim is from Hamilton, and he told investigators that he lost his wallet at the Ice Plex at SUNY Morrisville on Feb. 19. He said he did not immediately report the theft, but cancelled his credit cards.
Streeter told state police that he found the wallet in the snow at the Ice Plex, then kept it in the trunk of his car until late March before opening the checking account. State police said Streeter wrote a fake check for $5,104 worth of golf equipment at the Golf Galaxy in the Town of Dewitt in Onondaga County. Troopers said he also wrote bad paper for $6,642 for a gold Rolex watch at Henry Wilson Jewelry Store at the DestiNYUSA mall in Syracuse. The victim told investigators that he eventually received a notice from Rome Savings Bank that this fake checking account was grossly overdrawn.

So what type of punishment did Streeter receive and do you think he was asked to leave PV because of the video?

don't know about Streeter's punishment. It actually happened in 2008, not 2009. I'm sure it had nothing to do w/ Bryant leaving PV. Bryant accompanied Streeter when he bought the clubs but that was the extent of his involvement as far as the troopers could figure.

Former Teacher

I was hired by a wonderful principal Trish Plata my first year teaching physics and mathematics at Morrisville. However, she left in my second year and Morrisville hired Mr. Bryant. I found him to be a brutual disrespectful, shady, dictator and NOT intelligent at all. I left the field of teaching due to him and his outright inability to manage or lead. He was sneaky, on a power trip, he would publicy ridicule teachers, he was incredibly intolerant and his actions actually bordered on the illegal. He was REAL friendly with the female juniors and seniors and some few select young female teachers and incredibly rude and disrespectful to the elderly or experianced senior female teachers. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WENT BACK INTO THE PRIVATE SECTOR ...IN ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT TO MAKE MORE MONEY THAN HE HAS EVER MADE AND I'M PROUD TO SAY I'VE NEVER DISRESPECTED OR TREATED MY EMPLOYEES IN ANYWAY LIKE HE DID.
He was the reason I LEFT TEACHING!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it is the best thing to change fields. You actually taught math and physics? Astonishing! Thank God it wasn't English! Isn't literacy a requirement in your new "engineering management" field? It's frightening to think of teachers who cannot spell. It's a symptom of the general decline of public schools. Imagine a red line through the following:"publicy"; "experianced";" anyway". Now go back and correct your work. We can work on punctuation another time.

Yes, there are some words spelled incorrectly in this post but you miss the point. The person who posted it sums up my experience of Jon Bryant to a T! By the way... the inability to speak in complete sentences didn't prevent George W from being elected president twice.

I think it was you completely missed the point. What became the point was that someone who is a teacher should be literate. What ever Principal Bryant did or didn't do becomes a less compelling concern than the one made unintentionally by the disgrundled ex-teacher who claims to have been mistreated by Bryant. Surely there have always been mean and shady principals. A bigger concern is incompetent teachers. Introducing George Washington's elections was illogical. Your comment was a non sequitur and further makes the point about teachers who lack competence. What subject did/do you teach? One hopes it is not History. Back to Bryant: teachers have a variety of options available to them if they believe an administrator is harassing them, or behaving unethically. Tenured teachers are virtually untouchable. Many just cruise toward retirement secure in the knowledge that no one can do anything to them to hold them accountable - to actually be effective educators. The damage they do with an average of twenty years or more in a school district far surpasses that of the average administrator who typically stays in a district for less than ten years.

Ummm...that was George W. Bush I was referring to. And fyi....principals who fraternize with female students and young, female staff do have an impact on students...and not a positive one. I wouldn't want my daughter any where near this man. He was very abusive, especially to female teachers over 40. One well respected teacher retired mid-year because of the abuse this principal dished out. The district was lucky they didn't get sued over it. It wasn't disgruntled (not disgrundled) teachers- the things he did were illegal.

"Publicly" is an accepted variant of "publically", just as "accidently" is an accepted variant of "accidentally" according to the Merrriam Webster Dictionary. Look it up.

Thank you. I did. You are correct - "publicly" is a word, but the word "FORMER TEACHER" used in her post was "publicy" - not a word.

Publicy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Publicy is "the response from public institutions a private person is able to elicit" (Veldboer 2004, pp. 42). This concept is commonly understood as the opposite of privacy. This is only true however, in case both concepts relate to one and other in an equilibrium of mutually exclusive bipartition.

The relevance of the publicy concept becomes apparent in the context of cross-border migration, describing migrants entering the domain of an unexplored public sphere. Its definition has evolved against a background of interpreting new institutionalism and can be extended by replacing person by agent.

"Publicy" is not found in a dictionary. The term was "coined" by Veldboer, 2004. It is used in the author's context as a noun meaning "the opposite of privacy" and not as an adverb. "Former Teacher" clearly meant to spell "publicly" or the variation, "publically" and to use it as an adverb to describe Bryant's behavior.

Teachers should demonstrate some knowledge of grammar and spelling. Those who do not should not be employed as teachers. It is basic.

Really-who gives a shit if the word was spelled correctly-we are not discussing the English language here. We are trying to figure out why he resigned. I can tell Paying Attention that you have something against teachers or that you just want to dazzle us with your intelligence-but quess what? We are not impressed.
