my dad use to take me to see butterball race,we even went a few times with him,and billy carol.. i dont have any pictures but loved going..but now i just mostly go to bardstown or florence o and the butterball memorial race at the action track.

i remember going as a very young child...years later while still a teen my family moved into a house next to the property. my cousin and i walked through the field and brush to see the old track which of course was not visible any more but some of the stands were still there

I saw him race at the Richmond Raceway many times back in the seventies. A lot of us as teenages would cram into a car and go. Gee, I feel so ancient now!!

Butterball is my grandfather. he was a great person and a awesome race car driver! we have many pictures of him back in the day of him racing. i would love to hear some more stories about him!

I remember going to his auction barn when I was little. I hated all of the smoke, but I loved running around there. That really brings back some memories.

I lived right beside my nanny and grandaddy growing up and actually still live on jones lane. i dont remember much about the auctions but i do know the red auction barn is still there. what a childhood memory i have!

Lord have mercy! I haven't thought of Butterball in years. I don't know if I ever got to see him race, but I do remember momma and daddy talking about him and great a guy he was. Is he still around?

i would go with my dad or uncle to the races all the time,i remember the one arm guy[i think his name was coffee]racing against butterball,sometimes we even hung around his filling station,those guys knew how to have a good time,most of the old nascar guys came from tracks like that,we even went to louisville to watch him

I'm Paul's second cousin (1 year older than P.V.). I've tracked down one color photo of Paul in a racing magazine thanks to a friend's help, but I'm still looking for more.
