More elderly being put in to nursing homes because their families are not willing to take them in and care for them then 100 years ago . More people who cheat and defauld others in bussinesses then there where a 100 years ago . More people who just simply have no respect for anyone ealse then there was a 100 years ago . It has nothing to do with civil rights for womens or other wise if so that would mean the more rights gained the worse as people we become . You know it's true people are just not as likely to do the right thing or take responablity for themsleves or anyone else as they where .So what is the reason for that ? Note your last one about respect. Do you think civil rights are about respect? More people? Hope you mean percentage wise, because the population has more than tripled, so you must adjust the numbers accordingly. Now can you supply any data to support your claims? Were you there to see the difference? If not, then how can you know about what you judge so firmly?

You know it's true people are just not as likely to do the right thing or take responablity for themsleves or anyone else as they where .So what is the reason for that ? The reason? Economic prosperity. -More divorces because it is easier to get a divorce - and women aren't trapped into a marriage with a husband who beats, cheats, or treats them badly. -More single parents because people realize they don't have to be unhappy. -More homeless mainly due an overall larger population creating a larger population of homeless and mentally ill. Homeless, mentally ill persons often were institutionalized. -More elderly in nursing homes because of social safety nets that pay for it and families can afford it. -More people cheating and defrauding? Because they see how successful their counterparts can be at it. -More people having no respect for each other - that one is likely more religiously linked. As the diversity of religious sects has exploded, so has the "only way" thinking that makes them look down on other people's belief systems.

Trivia question of the day: From the Puritans at Plymouth Rock to our Founding Fathers, what religious intolerance were they seeking freedom from? Also, what religion was practicing this intolerance?

If it was not because there where more good Christians . Then what was it ? You said Times were different . That's all . Times are differnt now ,But what should/would that have to do with the morals of people being differnt. Take a little stroll down the life of many children back in 1912. Evidently it was not a Christian moral wrong to work children like pack animals. http://www.historyplace.com/unitedstates/chil... Morals and ethics evolve. We learn from mistakes of the past. We use reason to discern what is better for all. We can use science to help use understand our instincts and thus can use this knowledge to be better at controlling our actions. Science can show results of violent punishment to children. Science shows that leads to adult violence. Those who chose to ignore or are just ignorant of these sorts of information are what you need to be pointing a finger at for continuing the violence in society. Note, those who are more educated do tend to be less violent. Note in the link I showed, education of these children was nill. Public education was small.

Again, science showed with evidence that the shroud is not from the era of Jesus. Thus it is clearly a KNOWN fake. Anyone who still thinks it is real is only in denial of science. Some of the realms of the scientific believe there may be an undefined number of dimensions. You don't know either. If I need any further explanation, I will ask for one, thank you. You don't know either.

Ron Paul thinks the laws made on civil rights should be done away with. Many republicans do. Hope you do not follow the herd pack lemmings that wish to undo all that work in the civil rights era. There will always be civil right issues, because humans aren't perfect and the world isn't a "fair" place.(as in no such thing as .."utopia" for example.) And no, I would not want any part at all, of UNdoing progress that has been made for the common good that is found in treating others with at least basic humane respect. I wasn't raised around negative, pretentious attitudes like that. Ewe and ugh.

Only one third of children enrolled in elementary school. Less than ten percent graduated high school. Business life was filled with monopolies. But the businessman could take advantage of the children and work them like pack animals. So I guess the republicans here would like that freedom of commerce. There were little to no regulations for safety. Did I mention the average person did not live past fifty? Many were homeless. Many children slept on the sidewalks. Funny, that is not seem much if any today. Take your rose colored glasses off and look up the real history.

If I need any further explanation, I will ask for one, thank you. You don't know either. There are unknowns and there are knowns. The known is, the shroud of Turin is not of the era of Jesus. The unknown is, if there are more than one dimension. Science is careful when making claims. Religion is not. If you have some extraordinary claim of a shroud of Jesus, I expect some extraordinary evidence. You have zero. I have highly credible evidence it is a fake. In a court of law, I think I would win that case. If you wish for more testing, tell the church. They do not allow anymore due to the first time science showed hard evidence it was a fake.

Most people today have a Television view of history during much of the US History... Nice well dressed parasol wielding Ladies and Gents walking the clean paved streets.... Reality was that for every 1 of those there were 100 starving, dirty illiterate kids living in conditions we would not allow for our animals today... Women were held in many places like slaves and children were sent into running machinery to kick coal down the chutes... The streets were, in most places the Upper Crust we see on TV never visited, mud covered open cess pools.... In Much of the US where large groups of people were found they acted as much like animals then as they do now....

Scientific and popular publications have presented diverse arguments for both authenticity and possible methods of forgery. A variety of scientific theories regarding the shroud have since been proposed, based on disciplines ranging from chemistry to biology and medical forensics to optical image analysis. According to former Nature editor Philip Ball, "it's fair to say that, despite the seemingly definitive tests in 1988, the status of the Shroud of Turin is murkier than ever. Not least, the nature of the image and how it was fixed on the cloth remain deeply puzzling".The shroud is one of the most studied artifacts in human history, and one of the most controversial.
