I think it is called parkside, it'sbeen there for years now and still has next to nothing. Oh a ton of condo's or apartments in the back. And a really nice kohl's store, hey let's get a movie theater there, c'mon developers you have really dropped the ball for years now on this project.

I totally agree with the movie theater. I think maybe even an outlet store would be a good move. The east side of town also needs an outdoor store that deals with yard and garden care.

What is Frankfort's planners doing to lure more varied retail stores to that side of town? I don't care about another restaurant. I think we have quite a few of those, mostly fast food joints.

I think an old navy would be nice. I'd really love a Macys, but I don't think we'll ever see that.
We have far too many restaurants. We need another one like a bullet to the head.
Movie theater is a good idea. The one we have now has seriously declined in quality, either you have to sit in a theater with a blurry screen or sit with a blurry screen and busted speakers.

O brother here we go again with Cracker Barrel.

Everyone has a different opinion on what should go there. I have been on several different forums and the place suggested most seem to be:

Bass Pro
Target
Cracker Barrel
Red Lobster (?)
Olive Garden

There is always room for more retail I suppose. But I have no desire to turn into Mini-Lex

Frankfort will never have anything nice because city and county governments are not forward thinking and with exception to the "Grand" Theatre that had laid dormant for 50 years. They do not preserve older buildings and only want to develop new smaller strip malls. YOU WILL NEVER get a Cracker Barrell in Frankfort because your government won't provide the land to have it next to an interstate as Cracker Barrell insisted Frankfort to do before they built the Shopping are that houses Wal-Mart and Lowes. Good Luck!!!

YES to redlobster, we should be on the planning comission, kinda reminds me of the BIG eyesore on 127 south called century plaza. You would think the capitol city of the unbridled state of ky. could at least have some real shopping centers, can't blame the bad economy either century plaza has been a loss for years.

lmao what about the "shopping center" across from juniper hills, the bank in the very front of the place has been closed for how long???? The city can't seem to do something about that eyesore either, hey at least bulldoze it and plant flowers.

You can blame the investment company in New York that used to own that plaza. They are responsible for finding tennants. That is the problem with far-away enitities owning property in OUR town.

I don't know. Certainly not the FIRST thing I want to see when driving into this town. Same could be said for the old Wal Mart building in Century. Will just rot away, no tennant needs that much room save the state govt.

i thought that i heard the "outdoor world" was supposed to take over that home depot building? Guess the economy scared them away. I think a movie theater would be great. A tinsel town would be good. I like the Target idea, but, Kohl's would be angry. Maybe a Meijer's? Old Navy? something to stimulate the faltering east side...

Iwould like to see a Best Buy in franfort on the East-Side. Oh another reason places stay empty because companies charge to much for rent Ex: Home Depot Building to rent is $30,000 a month. Here's one worse than that The OLD Honda of Frankfort Building next to White Castle SAME AS Home Depot $30,000 a month just tto rent those places!!! Get real!!!
