I agree there is a lot of negativity here, but a percentage of that has to be assigned to the political people who say one thing, and do the opposite.

No reason to rehash McBarnes as every intelligent person knows he lied and got away with it so...

But the ones who are running against these political career clowns are the ones who get drug thru the mud. Two other mayoral candidates come to mind immediately.

Now we have people like who are running in the county against the career county "big boys" and they are being run threw the wringer. Bert Weaver comes to mind. Don't know him personally but have conversed with him a time or two.

The common denominator that seems clear on these people is that the negativity revolves around the Chamber, specifically a handful of members.

It's no surprise that most of their names are peppered on topix and in the local eateries.

The latest example would be The Scoreboard's desire to move downtown. Various chamber members had "vocal" opinions ranging from "Christian Book Store" and "Baby Clothes", but also "if they served food then it might be considered". These same vocal people are the ones that have conveniently been placed in local positions that align themselves with the current administration.

Might I remind you that those administrations don't have the best interests of the community in mind.

This chamber and their local power-players do not represent me nor my business. However they seem to do whatever they want and don't care about the small business person, unless of course your Jill Snyder or Carol Price.

The current mayor was "groomed" by this very same chamber. The same chamber that many of his ardent financial supporters are the heavy players in. Our managers thought politically they should take a stance of we will work with whoever gets elected. Not taking a side. That gives the illusion that every member of the chamber is in agreement. NOT TRUE...

I digress back to the county political forums...
Some of these new runners come from the city. How convenient is that? Let's not forget their affiliations with the current administration. While I agree that it is important that the two get along with communication, I don't particularly want my employees to reside in a county where a board of works potentially dictates what the county will and will not do.

So, it should be said that I am passing judgement. Not based on anger or negativity on any one particular person, but because experience shows that if these career people get there way, those very same power players and the chamber will be dictating what is and isn't acceptable for my business and employees.

Don't believe me? Just ask Jonas and his dad, they are experiencing it first hand.

Plenty and it doesn't stop with the young man either...

So go ahead and start with your "prove this" or "your full of crap" or whatever you want.

But rest assured that the company's money will be deflected away from the "players" of this community. It won't shut the doors of any place, but to know that I am not supporting liars and thiefs speaks to the standards upon which good people were raised by.

Our company isn't the only one in this town to feel this way. There are quite a few of us that feel like someone should start another association that truly wants what we want, fairness, someone who will represent us and not a handful of businesses, and most of all, an association that knows how to be neutral in politics and local businesses.

Fire away...

How did we digress from the subject? I started this post to inform all of you about the forum next Tuesday. I felt that by attending this forum you would be better equipped to make a decision on who you would vote for Commissioner. I don't think the Scoreboard or businesses have anything to do with this. I wish all of you the best of luck at the polls and may the best men win!!

Mission Impossible, this message will self destruct in 5 seconds. We can only hope the posted of all this crap will go away with it. They make it sound like all these current officals plotted together to get each one elected, have all these secret meetings plotting against the people of our city. This is not Hollywood, this plot would make a great Movie but there is not one ounce of truth in any of it. Just people trying to improve our city with good dicisions and leadership. My proof is never do these people have good intentions they always end up ridiculing everyone. People hate all the slandering they want to build up this town not tear it down.Hate always has a way of exposing itself. If you want to make a difference get involved instead of setting on the side lines and complaining,no one likes it.

I find it interesting that you go into such depth as the writer above does. Sounds like YOU know exactly what they are talking about and trying to discount it as hearsay.

You did write the truth, you just WANT people to believe it isn't happening.

Too bad Hollywood isn't here becaise the would have a real life story!

You're damn right we are! Run a respected, well-established business in this town for 9 years... Just to have A CHILD step into power and try and shut you down! Never once stepping foot in our establishment, or, coming to meet and talk with us about "our vision" for our business! McBarnes is a hypocrite and a puppet! PERIOD!

What you have just described is exactly what is indeed happening in this town. There are meetings that happen, where you are wrong is they aren't "plotting against the people of our city", they are just making things better for themselves. That does indirectly affect companies and residents alike.

Actually there are people who do have good intentions but it is because of people like you who defend their actions that create the negative you speak of.

Complaining to the administration cures nothing. They have an agenda already put in place well before the election was over. It's very evident that, for example The Scoreboard wasn't on that agenda. Probably because he understands the common person and doesn't choose to play the game like "the players" do.

Shan Sheridan spoke about if Jonas sold food, it might be ok for them to be downtown. That sounds like if you do what I want, then I'll give my blessing. Carol Price indicated that she has a business that next to the place and doesn't want alcohol there. Someone made a comment about the Christian Store on they other side of the business. Mr Mcbarnes made some statements as well. All these people come together and proceeded to gang up on Mr Lenehen. That's not how it should work.

I thought increasing traffic to downtown Frankfort was the main goal. I didn't know it was "we will let you set up shop here if you do what we ask and or demand". Renting a building for business and or owning a business creates revenue for the community.

What did the Main St Association have to say about all this?

What did Arni's, Pepe's, Flavors, Main Street Pub, The bakery place, and any other food business say?

Our business is a million dollar plus business trying to make an positive impact on not only Frankfort, but Clinton County as a whole.

But when politicians coupled with a local chamber who seems to want to represent a "small" percentage of businesses that are "in the club", it causes businesses like mine to question where the loyalty is for us.

Thank you for spelling out the truth up above and trying to then sell it as a Hollywood movie. It's people like you who make the job of proving things so much easier.

Reading through this thread I find the conversation interesting that Carol Montgomery would be leading the charge to block a business.

She had no problem, when her family owned and operated the county dump on 39, requesting waivers and variances from the county, state and federal government agencies.

Interesting...
