Lehigh Valley areaaa victims of Bernard Madoff glad he got maxi...

Full story: The Morning Call

Given that Bernard Madoff is 71, a 150-year prison sentence for orchestrating a massive Ponzi scheme might seem like overkill, but considering the lives he's ruined, overkill is precisely what he deserves, according to some of his victims from this area.

Is it possible that Madoff's rushed guilty plea was simply a ploy to avoid a long trial with its discovery process becoming a can of worms for the rich and powerful? People (senators, governors, ex-presidents) who have been knowingly benefitting from this Ponzi scheme for years but don't want that to come to light?

You got a point there. I still believe his wife knew what was going on.

The media has exposed a very interesting flaw in the Jewish community: Greed!!! Many of Madoff's "victims" arrogantly bragged to friends that they were making 10% on their Madoff investments, every year, everytime......How stupid could these people be. we have heard numerus victims say: "He's a nice Jewish boy" "Why would I invest with a Goyem?" Now they are all crying....Face it you got played. Jewish on Jewish violence. If anything, the Madoff scandal has shown the rascism of the Jewish community towards the non-Jewish community. His victims should look at their own greed. Guess the Irishman, PA Dutchman, and Blackman are the smart one's now. End racism now in the Jewish community.

It is a shame and a sham that his 150 years could not be distributed to the government officials that ignored the problems that were known for many years.

That kind of incompetence in government is what we are going to get with any government program whether it is regulatory or service oriented.

Madoff ripped off everyone who invested with him. The more you invested, the more you lost. His family did not realize what he was doing. They only knew he was making lots of money. His wife was never an investment banker, and probably did not ask business-related questions. Madoff didn't care what race or religion an investor was, only cared about the money. He was an equal opportunity crook.

The man was evil - but so were the investors! They thought they were smarter, better, knew secrets that the average person didn't,etc. That is greed of the condesending kind & equally deserving of punishment (like losing their money).

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aries

Christmas Eve finds you happy and eager to get the most out of the day. You're in a rather sentimental mood, so if you've got time you'll relish the chance to watch a favourite film, especially if it means you've got to get out the hankies. A friend's kindness or sensitivity will delight you - and make you wonder how you can reciprocate.
