Jun 28, 2012 Full story: The Wave 121

Mayor Foster is like a slow motion train wreck. From the $19 million dollars he lost trading with Lehman's to the 10's of millions he's lost via not collecting on parking tickets, and the sewers backing up into the street each and every heavy rain we've had, and more, he's made a mess of the city, and should step down, and perhaps solicit for his dream job: managing a McDonald's.
He can't even work with Seal Beach without getting them extremely agitated because of his lack of leadership. Get this arrogant incompetent fatazz out of Long Beach!

Mr. Foster has a good thing going so forget about him exercising integrity. Being mayor is cool for this guy. He gets comped at restaurants (all the prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes he can eat), never has to wait in line at McDonald's, plus HIS neighborhood is always safe and maintained. Plus the pension is kickazz. No way he's giving that up.:()

To be candid, I take the kids to seal beach to shop at all the neat little stores they have, and to let them run off some energy on the beach. If I start seeing more than a few of the Long Beach brand of Blackazoids, I'll just take the kids elsewhere. That's not the Seal Beach I've always known. Seal beach isn't for dim hood rats. Not worth dealing with them. Glad to here their bus service was ended.

Seal Beach today is like Long Beach was prior to the revolutionary ruling class drawing the Thug people into the city so they could celebrate diversity with them in order to increase their chances of remaining in office. Let us hope Seal Beach is able to maintain itself as a tiny island of civilization in our troubled sea.

Long Beach is home to one of the most radical of the States' unbelievably expensive taxpayer funded Government system of universities. Many of the failed post-revolution social scheme hokum that have had such a destructive effect on our society are cooked up there - at taxpayer expense. Many local politicians received their heavily taxpayer subsidized Government training there, including some of the "double dippers".

This just doesn't make sense. After LB sent Laura R to Congress all neighboring Cities should have demanded a thirty foot high fence be erected all around LB to keep the LB mentally retarded away from everyone else.

Lived in Seal Beach Old town for ten years.

Their is a collective mentality in Seal Beach, based on arrogance, ignorance and lack of sophistication.

Think of a couples clicks up from white trash, with HS & AA degrees, whom by some mere stroke of luck, purchased mediocre houses, now worth gold

This town reaks of pettiness. Homeowners think they own the streets (parking) in front of their places. Leaving nasty notes on cars and even super gluing door locks. Non homeowners are refered to as "only renters".

The locals even harrass small business owners on Main St, over trumped up code violations. Landlords of commercial and residential properties eptomize greed. Most of them are old locals, lounging in their ratty hang tens and frumpy tees. City Council meetings are high comedy and just low class spectacles.

The town is mean spirited. Minorites are not welcomed at all, nor for that matter are sophisticated LA type whites, which I am.

Don't confuse proper parenting with being "mean spirited". Seal Beach is guilty of setting a higher standard than the increasingly pitiful remains of the rest of the area.

You will love LA. Unless you are rich, it is a filthy gang infested dump crawling with illegal aliens and the foul mouthed unparented urban hip hop types which sounds perfect for you.

We are ALL lucky that we have something for everyone in SoCal.

Not my experience with Seal Beach at all. Never been to a city council meeting though. I've brought minority friends down there many times, but they're not gang members or hip hop posers, so we all felt welcome as could be. If you don't act ghetto, Seal Beach is a blast. Sorry you got left behind in the land ownership department. It is nice owning a home in Seal Beach, and I guess they want to keep what happened to Long Beach from happening in their town. Nobody can blame them.

Seal Beach is awesome. No one complains when large swathes of LB are crammed with blacks or crammed with illegals why can't white people have a place to call their own? Fair is Fair. After all, whites pay the most taxes and pay for the EBT cards for all those people. Show a little gratitude.

Don't get on your high horse and blame other people for your mistakes. You voted to be less than. Deal with it. Many are there by inheritances. Even know some of them. Forty year old Trust funds babbies, hanging out at O'malleys or the dumpy Irish bars down the street. Never worked a day in their lifes. Some majored in Art at Long Beach State..LOL..other just old slack jaw surfer dued and wrinkled up post menopausal mammas types who never did jack sht with their life's. Most live in their now deceased old mans shacks, some even renting out rooms and garages to their buddies.

They do have a small trailer park just a few blocks from the beach. Has been there for over sixty years. Developers have tried to kick out these mostly old social security dwellers, but have met resisitance by the City. The City is not doing this out of altruism, but this is a legal ruse on their part to be in compliance with the State's low income housing regulations. The locals continue to poke fun at the trailer park inhabitants.

The true Tailer Trash are the home owners and landlords.

It will be nice, when their beach goes major immigrant Latino, just like Newport Beach and Santa Monica has. Yes it can happen. Poetic justice.

Seal Beach is a mean spirited town. This fact is well known on the coast.

Long Beach is home to one of the most radical of the State's unbelievably expensive taxpayer funded revolutionary university system. When hard earned taxpayer money is used formulate the most outrageous of revolutionary ideas, they are first implemented in Long Beach, home to a voting majority of dangerous tax eaters and the taxpayer supported voting coalition of Thug people and their criminally insane compatriots.

The entire State is endangered by creeping Longbeachism. Seal Beach and other surrounding cities have already criminalized elderly Leisure World grandmothers who would gather in beer joints to enjoy the simple pleasure of smoking a few cigarettes. Let us hope Seal Beach and other yet relatively peaceful surrounding cities don't impose Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes on these gallant silver hair grannies as well.

what in hell does any of this have to do with what i said? the bag ban is your chip? how stupid is that? i'm sorry if lazy fools can't be bothered to bring a reusable bad with them. besides, what did you do with all the bags you've been getting at the store? probably just tossed them for the landfill? what a childish view of the world your idiots have. go choke on plastic and roll around in styrofoam and suck on a tailpipe while loading you automatic riffle. if you haven't the common sense to understand the meaning of the bag ordinance then you are pretty lame to chose that as your fight. foolish hateful people like you fear their own shadows. be logical and use that 5th grade education of yours to understand what poverty does to our society and be a little more understanding of who suffers from your little utopian money grubbing ways of life. besides, there is no purpose even debating with you clowns as society, even your own children, are changing the tide of hypocrisy and intolerance and bigotry of people who have beaten down society with your greedy selfish and fearful ways. your community is changing jerk; deal with it. your ideas are now in the minority and you will soon be seen as the dinosaur that you are.

wish you ill.

Exactly! Many of the most fervent supporters of revolutionary ruling class despotism were born after the revolution. Those who have never known freedom never miss it once it is lost.

Incidentally, wish you ill. In more technologically advanced nations, fast decomposing grocery bag technology has been available for many years. Here is a link to just one. The world is flooded with them. Not surprisingly, that modern technology is not available to overtaxed Long Beachers. Instead, revolutionary Council imposes Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes on the overburdened voting minority of Long Beachers who do not use taxpayer funded food stamps to pay for their groceries.

Its always a good idea to "follow the money" when one wants to figure out the reason for Government tyranny of this nature. The question arises as to how many proponents of the Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes have cozy arrangements with Big Landfill corporations?

It's too bad for LB that their crumbling infrastructure and deteriorating welfare-town social class sent the tax paying 1%'ers running for Seal Beach and beyond.

LB shouldn't wonder why the place is deteriorating in to a ghetto. They made it that way. The Gay community in LB is doing what they can to plug the holes in the sinking boat, but they too, should move to gay-friendly parts of OC where their tax money won't be poured down the drains of homeless shelters and day-worker shelters.

You are crazy. Bags and Bike lanes while the City Parks are dying from neglect and the streets are getting filthier by the day and property values continue to plunge in many neighborhoods. The business community is dying which means so is the tax base and the job opportunities. Where are your priorities.

No wonder you settle for people like Suja and Bonnie. You are willing to let your City fall apart because someone waves to you from a car in parade?

This is America Bub. The Govt job is to Manage the City and run it within Budget not Manage your lives like a bunch of elitist social engineers. Man Up!

Dan Salazar,
Buddy, the home prices are plummeting EVERYWHERE! Even in SB. Are you that out of touch with reality? And i'm not 100% sure what business community you are speaking of, Pal, perhaps the useless boutique shops on 2nd st and beyond that cater to the wealthy minorities or the wasteful college kids getting drunk to provide your wealth since, like you said, the money is moving south? The transportation, minerals, warehouse and few manufacturing industries are still doing just fine in LB compared to the national crisis we are experiencing (no doubt the handy work of the lazy greedy inheritance generation trying to inflate their wealth gambling with the nation to keep themselves out of the workforce). We also don't need the very few below livable wage jobs created by the biggest complainers who staked their life in a trend or selling extravagant services to a tiny minority who could afford it. We live in one of the largest incorporated cities in the nation where our funding comes in large part from national commerce, energy, manufacturing on large scale, and trade. Seal beach is simply a retirement community for the wealthy. You have one boing facility and a wasteful military base. LB is residence to tradesmen/women, professionals, service workers, commerce employees, etc., that work either in LB or very near to the north. Unless you have been sheltered all your life you would have seen that most every dense city has and has always had similar stages and populations as today. As well, as long as people feel they must repopulate as fast as they do, WITHOUT GIVING UP ANCIENT 'LIMITING SOCIETAL EVOLUTION'' rituals, practices, and bigotry, this is just going to be exaggerated until something MUST change to allow humanity to survive, and no longer sustain the idiocracy of our current ways of life (not just here but everywhere). whenever that may be.
in reference to the idiots in city hall and congress? On that we do agree. Who the hell can account for idiots who vote as the commercial tells them to. besides, a partisan administration of either side is essentially the same garbage you complain about now. Its all about the wealth manipulating the power of our nation , or huge ass city, to keep their revenues high than today, forever topping today. that is not going to be good for anybody; not even themselves. But oh well, we can just occupy ourselves by hating those who live differently. Every read your local papers? Ever read the police logs? It always seems that some scared person is calling the police on their neighbor or their kids. Its pathetic that you create reason in your heads to segregate yourselves in fear and mongering. very sad indeed.
Again, who is elected in this city, which i also do not like (but do not share your bigotry about the citizenry), has no real bearing except to continue to try to advance through the broken and corrupt political system making money. That is everywhere in any system such as ours. Unfortunately for many, as I said already, LB is not a retirement community for the wealthy, so its citizens can not always feel like they have any representation, because we don't. That is mainly the fault of capitalism, but also because there are so many class divisions in LB, it is very easy to be elected by playing to any which one. Yes, you are correct in that it is corruption. It's representative of our nation though. But to compare a small city to LB is just silly. If you bigots want to split from the rest of society and not be affected by troubled times for the ENTIRE nation/world, then your should have retired to some island, say like past Jamaica, where you could take some slaves, or a few of your employees as you call them in modern times, and be self reliant and f-off already. Enough putting a steimey on human progress so you can continue living in fantasy land.
