A deputy warden at a Rhode Island prison faces charges of going into a condo and taking four wine glasses over the weekend, police said Monday.
As one of the victims of this crime, I can tell you that this wasn't just about stealing a couple of wine glasses. These people kept keys to a home they'd sold over a year ago and brought those keys with them on a weekend vacation to Maine. Doesn't this seem to imply malicious intent? The condo they stayed in belonged to the owner of the condo they burglarized....they were his guests!!! After being caught in our condo the first time and lying about trying to find help for a friend who'd been injured in a snowmobile accident; they went back in only to get caught a second time stealing the glasses. How many times had they done this and not gotten caught? As law enforcement officials, they had to understand the consequences of their actions. Did they think the law doesn't apply to them?
