There are no eating places anymore where you can go for a very quite, and peaceful meal..The other steak houses are so loud, and by the time you leave, your head is splitting open !!!

Please try and keep some of the Steak & Ale Resturaunts open for those of us that want good food, and a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy it in ! Thank You, Frances Bakke

I LOVE Steak & Ale!!!! I've been eating there since I was a kid and I love taking my kids there now. It was a reasonably priced steak house with a cozy atmosphere. It was just a great way for a family to enjoy an upscale atmosphere on a middle class budget. Please, someone, bring it back to life!!

Sure hope this works and they can bring back Ole' Steak & Ale. Still a classy place if you ask me in comparison to all the rest.

Come back Steak & Ale!

I'm glad to hear this. It pains me greatly to see franchise owners penalized for the horrible management at corporate. Of course, the upper level management will blame it on everything else except themselves. If you have never worked in a restaurant you have no business running one. I went to business school too, but that MBA doesn't automatically qualify you as an expert in any industry where you happen to get a job.

I guess the Steak and Ale by the Weatherford traffic circle got the axe also....Damned shame.
As far as Bennigan's goes, the only thing I'll miss there is the Monte Cristo.

Yeah, close a good restaurant, lay off workers, and the big wigs laugh to the bank because it's guaranteed that the CEO and VPs get their large checks. Good old American Corporation management theft.

My wife and I went out to dinner at Steak and Ale on our first date and have been regulars of both it an Bennigans for thirty years. Great atmosphere, no head-slitting music. S & A still has the best salad bar anywhere.

I hope they can reopen some of the Houston locations of both.

PLEASE bring Steak and Ale back to life! I am slowly dying for lack of a fresh salad and a Kennsington Club! And a baked potato with extra butter........ South Carolina misses you!

Man I hope this is really true. Steak and Ale is my favorite restaurant. I love their prime rib and the salad bar. The atmosphere is classy and comfortable. I always enjoyed eating there during the holidays especially. Please bring it back!!!

I worked at Steak and Ale in Delaware for 2 1/2 years and it was by far the best job I have ever had. I hope it can reopen . It is truely missed.

As a former employee of Bennigans I think it would be a good idea to reopen some of the stores especially since the economy is the way it is..there would be more jobs for people!

Jobs dependent on money, which is in short supply lately. These restaurants closed even before the big 'economic collapse.' The likelihood of them being re-opened now, after the economy has already tanked is slim to none.

Try Friday's. Their JD Burgers are good. Chilli's has a nicely priced 'sizzling combo' platter as well.

I must say as a former employee of Steak and Ale for 14 years. That was the most awesome place I ever worked. It put me through college to be a teacher. I continued to work there on the weekends as a bartender. I miss that place so much. I can only hope that one day someone will come to their senses and reopen the one in Fort Myers, Florida. Awesome people worked there and awesome people came in there regularly. I drive by there everyday and think about all the great times I had. I truly miss everything about it!
