UCC wrote: One could say that UCC strayed from the Gospel basics. UCC has been preaching a gospel of humanistic psycho-babble for years; a prideful and boastful lot. UCC may simply be getting their natural come-up-ins. The term often used during their services was the “UCC Journey”. Well, that “journey”(aka-bunny trail) is much-less important than the final destination… which is “Salvation”-“Being a Good and Faithful Servant”- rebuking sin and doing no harm to others. UCC, like all of us, can overcome their past and present by instituting the 3R’s caught in most Sunday Schools.(Repent of Transgression, Restore the Damages, don’t Repeat the Old Ways). May All effected by UCC be made Whole again. Amen The "UCC Journey" was a "Bad Trip"!

It's true. Tim Carson and Alan both told folks over the years to go look for another church.:o How rude. Now how ironic it is that now they are both looking for another church. As UCC likes to say "it's all about the Journey". ;) Von Voyage Mates.

Looks like the members took a sabbatical too. Folks tend to vote with their feet. "Actions speak volumns". Music and Words very little unfortunately.

Leaders know when to leave and do no more harm. Hangers on just want another turn in barrel and want not to get caught. UCCs leaders have taken the cowards ways out for years. Preserving their own necks. Turning a blind eye ...going with the flow. Tim may have had some backbone after all.... but he also had the least time in grade and the least to loose. Face it UCC has burned down twice. Their ministers and others caught in adultary more than once. Their congregation scattered..... hey.... sounds like your Bible story 101. God willing all will be restored or left to wither. Only God really knows. "Journey on" Christen soliders. We'll all be called home and held to give an account in the end. UCC can do no more harm to those who know her. Amen

Maybe UCC can hire ministers that can preach well and bring in and retain more members. It appears that Christs Chapel and the Methodist churches in the area are maintaining members and continue to grow. With the recent economic hardships in the nation many folks are returning to their faith. :) A good tree will bare good fruit. UCC seemed vibrant at one time ... but then again so did the economy. UCCs intellectual... liberal... sectular tendancys.... like the worlds.... may have been their undoing. God will not be mocked and Gods Word is to be our Rock in the storm. Good shepherds will not harm and scatter their flocks. UCC has not been like a good shepherd to many. The greatest commandment is to love our God with all mind body and spirit. UCCs past problems and current situation is a result of Sin within. Repent.. love God... tend for Gods children and Sin no more. We pray. Amen

Now they can take their issue down the road too.

UCC sould consider starting a womans centric ministry. It appears that most of their peachers are now women anyway. Come to think of it the men at UCC must like to be led around by woman otherwise they would leave. So be it then. WWJD?

There is more truth and accurate analysis in posting # 34 "Pretense of righteousness, than in the whole rest of these entries. Some of these entries don't come close to representing the UCC that I have known and love to this day. There is no church without it's problems. Tell me where it is, if you disagree! Yes, power finally seemed to win, but God's power will still triumph. The longtime, faithful leaders and other members who worship at UCC because it is a part of the body of Christ who understand God's calling in a more progressive way than many churches, have not left. We are praying every day for the working of the Holy Spirit to guide us. And yes, I fully understand that there are some who decided they didn't have the stomach to stick with a messy situation. However, the growing nature and understanding of our calling for this day and time shows that many of us hear God's call to reach outward and to be inclusive in our caring. Our giving has held well and people are still joining UCC because of her vibrant worship and sense of responsibility to live our faith in every day life. The vitality of UCC's programs for children, youth and adults continues to make an impact on people's lives. The "culture" of UCC may end up being very different than it has been in year's to come. We have been headed in a very positive direction with our last two ministers. Our challenge now is to let well educated men and women of faith (ministers) LEAD us. And in order to keep the "run-off syndrome" from repeating, must find ways to listen to all our members and yet insist that the predominant views are those which ultimately guide our path on the journey that every one of us makes. It's called LIFE!

It's called LIFE! Well stated and balanced. You obviously have alot invested at UCC and that is to be commended. We're taught that in the end the Book of Life will be opened and we will all stand alone. Our hearts will be know by God already and our deeds will be reveiled. By Grace we are judged and God willing saved. UCC needs Grace and healing. UCC is like the one taught in adultary.... not once...but many times..... then explains the Sin away as a "Journey" over and over again. Gods Word is not "progressive".....it 's a Rock. God's Churches preach His Word and never knowning lead folks astray. The Path is straight and Gate narrow. UCC is a pretty place. Like the harlet mentioned in a message above. Will UCC be restored? Thats a long "Journey" that many will be assisting with as your search for a good shepherd starts. Journey on with your lives. Do no harm as you travel. Consider breaking with your tradition and legacy. It has not served you that well.. because it may not be serving God. After all God will love you either way. Rebellous and progressive with a busted church.... or..... obedient and faithful with a strong following. Hmmmm.

UCC has a liberal following. There is a place for that. Some folks can't take anything but... so be it. Liberal can be an easy way, if you don't resist it... anything goes. And goes, and goes, and goes.

UCC has a good weekday school. It has some community outreach. It is a nice place to hold events. Its run like any other area business. Its almost like UCC desires to be less in the business of religous and more like a childcare provider and a wedding chapel. The Lena Pope home comes to mind. So it serves a niche either way. As long as its a paid service along with their trust funds... UCC should remain solvent. We often simply reap what we sow. UCC has invested its treasure in the world. Trust fund folks are often a liberal lot away. A match made in ......
