I am amazed at the content of the school text books
which I have seen in the last several years. Many
of our "founding fathers" are put down as just
"old white men". These men faced death, loss of
all their assets and battled a superior army which
was the world leader at the time. Also, our United
States Constitution is the only document in existence which gives the power to the people in
governing. All of which is absent from the text
books of the last (more than several) years.
Very few, if any, leaders who want to follow the
U. S. Constitution are not held up to faint praise
and then put down. If you have children and grand
children, take a look at their text books and make
up your own mind. The reading is interesting!

Rebecca Bell-Metterau has actual teaching and writing experience. The Texas Assn of School Boards representing the 1050 school boards across our state, liberal, conservative, Black, White and Hispanic sent a directive to the SBOE to take politics out of the curriculum process, which is what Bell-Metterau espouses.

Instead of voting straight party -actually compare the candidates, their qualifications and platform. Bell-Meterau makes her opponent seem... well .. ignorant!

Our children deserve the best education, and this race is not about spending more funds to change textbooks each time there is a political shift in the board.

Wow, Me what is extreme about following the Constitution and living by a moral code and actually not spending more than you take in. How about teaching the children about arithmatic, history and not pushing the farce global warming...but what do I know.

Whoever wins I hope they take a serious look at where Texas is ranked in special education. Last I heard Texas was ranked 49th. Disgusting rank if you ask me. But then I guess the ranking at least shows how much, or how little in this case, educators really care about special education in the state of Texas.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Gemini

Do a little lateral thinking today and it will work wonders. Don't feel hidebound because you're supposed to do things in a certain way, because this is a great opportunity to try a different approach for a change. Even so, you may have to play down your unorthodox technique when talking to anyone who sticks rigidly to convention.
